Does bad luck come in packs?

Why can't it just spread out, today has been outrageous the amoutn of bad beats i have had, every **** river came against me, yes most of it was in Omaha but it's got to my head now and i'm absolutely fuming.

I got crazy and entered a DYM i shouldn't of, mainyl due to anger and furstration but i played everything so well and then this....

Another chuffing river card, i know a lot of people sat it should be for fun but when the fusration get's the better of you and everything is against you it's just so hard to enjoy the game. Yet i don't want a break, i know come tommorow i will be playing happily again.

Anyhow think i'm giving up on Omaha, it seems variance isn't my bestest of friends.

Whinge over. I'm picking the toys up now.

A 5 would of done him no favours, and he had three 9's due to me have the flush draw, meaning the 9 of diamonds would not of helped him.

First thing is you should remove his name from the hand history m8.

I was in this and made the cash but the villain was a bit of muppet. We got down to 4 and one guy had 146 chips left. I call villain calls and then big-bets every card. I dropped out and he lost to the short stack - I would have won it and taken the S/S out. Next hand the S/S has 400 or so chips and goes all in again. This time chummy bets into every card. I called this time as I had the boat. The S/S went out but in a DYM the villain had not a clue.

Bad one for you mate. Pretty bad but nothing was really done wrong by either of you, it is just the nature of the game. This sort of thing happens all the time in omaha and you will be on both ends of it so chin up

That's the thing though talon i never seem to be able to get on the right end, could post around 7 to 8 hands where i've been bummed on the river, just from this evening.

Hopefully it will come right soon but this was just the icing on the cake and else will tell you i reacted quite bad.

Mate i knew i had him beat the way the hand had gone, also to the other post it was a very agressive table and near the bubble due to 1 player considerably short stacked, so i wanted to chekc make sure i hit, and i did.

Anyway ty else, just managed to cash in the same DYM as we played in before, so have managed to come out even for the day/night despite have a fair few bad beats.

    Hi Hart,

It might be of some use for you to take a look at the Omaha Board, there's a wealth of advice in there, especially on the "Omaha Hints & Tips for Beginners" thread.

At the very top of the thread, it says this......(my enboldenment)

"The suckouts you see, & players get upset about, in Texas Hold 'em are nothing compared to Omaha suckouts. It's a brutal game......

    1) If you play Omaha, you will get the weirdest & most unexpected beats imaginable. Get used to it.

    2) The Pots get VERY big VERY quickly in Omaha. ALL the Chips or cash you have in front of you will get in the middle sooner than in Hold Em. You MUST protect your hands, & to do that, you need to bet strongly. Hence the Pots soon get huge.

It is THE greatest game you can imagine, but it's deeper - MUCH deeper - than NLH, it needs thinking about carefully. ...."

    The thread is here

You might also take a look at Talon's Omaha Blogs, which are here

Omaha is brutal. Each player is holding 6 x 2 card hands. So with 3 opponents, you are facing EIGHTEEN 2 card hands.

What that means is that Omaha "beats" are absolutely routine, standard, & normal. You will get 5 of them every hour. Only by coming to terms with that will you enjoy the game to it's fullest - & you will, because it's THE most beautiful game. Once you come to terms with the beat-factor!

    Good Luck!
