Great Show Tonight, really looking forward to Rupert Elder and would love his thoughts on this hand in tonights UKPC Quarter Final

    837378181 (19:18 11/11/2014)

The opponent is a reg and is a good player capable of big laydowns and floating twice in position with air, put him on a midpair like sevens as he flats my 3bet. Not convinced by my bet sizing and would like Rupert's input, I think i was telling a convincing story of an overpair. Thanks

So let's have a go at analysing a hand between Moorman and Channing haha!

    A9 vs T8, interesting hand.

My guess would be that Chris doesn't really want to go to war with Neil out of position with a marginal hand. One player is short and Chris is joint second in chips.

Who knows whether the check on the flop was setting up a raise, but I'd expect he's pot controlling. If he fires Neil defends almost all the time as loads of broadway combinations can float hoping to hit or take away later. Don't think Chris would want to fire all three streets at Neil here given stacks.

Neil checks back as he's got strong equity with the open-ender, especially with position, and would hate a raise. Once Neil checks back it's an easier value bet on the turn with the board 5793.

The check on the river 6 again I think is pot control, leading here opens the door for bluffs and it could get quite expensive.  The check can also induce Neil to bluff but it's now much cheaper.  Given the check opens the door for a stab I think it's a call - either bet and fold to a raise (and risk folding the better hand) or check and call and see if you're good for the same price.  Hearts have missed plus the board is all low so Neil may well try to take this away.

The take-away is that Moorman only invested about 300k of his 980k stack to complete the hand, leaving a plenty playable 20BB to contest other pots and perhaps survive on whilst others bust.

I am available if he needs coaching, but think he played it very well.

    EDIT - last longer pls!

Good evening Mrs Fowler, Sir Tikay and Mr Elder.
Question for Mr Elder what time of the day do you play poker and are you available to play the £2.20 @2.20 DEEPSTACK.
    All the best.

    question for rupert

    Q. as a pro how much time do you spend playing poker?

    Q. if you decided to make direct entry, how much will MTTs normally cost?

    Q. what size blinds do you have on cash tables?

    Evening all

I was going to grab a few Zzzzzzzzzzzzz's this evening and get up to watch the conclusion of the WSOP final table, but having seen the line-up for the show tonight I've put that idea on hold and will watch 861! Sleep is over-rated anyway.

greetings all. hope you are well :)  i bet you didn't know that Tikay and Andrew Luck (Indiannapolis Colts QB) have something in common?  On Monday Night Football last week the commentaters were talking about the fact that Andrew Luck is extremely intelligent and is very interested in how stadiums are built, and most importantly the different compositions of concrete used!!!
have a great show and be good.. but if you must be bad, be good at it!
    take care

    My questions for Rupert

Does he prefer being  a celebrity and recognisable in live poker events or would he rather be anonymous playing internet poker?

    Has recognition affected his game?

and finally does he think the poker world needs more or less personalities?

The Sam Razavi's putting smiles into poker/The Tikay's heping punters Zzzzzzzzzz etc

In MTTs middle stages do you think its always a good idea to check on the status of other players
stacks left in or should you just concentrate on your own stack.
    Great show as usual
    thank you.

    Mr Bear

What do you eat during your 50-60 MTT online sessions to keep morale up?  If I had to guess, I would wager it were recently buttered toast.

    Regards

    Mr Kendall

Every time I message the show you ask whether its an in-joke.  For future reference, it never is.

    Mr All in the studio

Apologies, perhaps I wasn't making myself clear.  I wasn't making a reference to anything, I was simply enquiring as to Mr Bear's food of choice during a heavy grind.  I made a guess at recently buttered toast, as I gather it is a rather popular food choice.  I for one enjoy a nice slice of recently buttered toast, sometimes with cheese.

    Regards

    Wilhelm

P.S.  From memory, I believe Paddington Bear enjoyed eating sandwiches, but a bear enjoying recently buttered toast is practically unheard of.
