My first post!! Having some time away from the tables today, but i can't get this particular hand out of my head, and thought i will share it with the world, alongside my thoughts as to why i played it the way i did .
So in the hand, i am the small blind, i have a good player to my right on the button. playing 50nl. This has to be one of the most unusual hands i've played in all my years of playing poker .
Pre Flop The player on the button raises to £2.50 with only 1 limper before him.
I just call pre flop from the small blind with QQ, partly to play tricky, but also to control pot size when out of position to a strong opponent.
Flop Flop came down 222.
Pretty great flop for me, i still have to be weary of him having AA or KK, as i didn't re-raise pre flop i'm not sure how strong he is, so i open the betting out of position, to get an idea of how strong his hand is, without letting him do a standard C bet in this spot. He calls!
Turn Turn was 9.
Again a good card for me.
I check this position, again this is to gauge what he has by seeing how he reacts to my check. I know that if he does have AA or KK he will bet this spot. He checked behind me so i know i no longer need to worry about him having AA or KK.
River River was another 9.
I thought, "great card", now i have to over bet the pot in this spot for value, as he definately will think there is a strong chance that I am just playing the board, he can't put me on TT or above from the way i have played this hand, maybe his only worry will be me having a weird hand with a 2.
