Anybody playing in the 'Courage League Final' this Saturday at the Luton G @ 2.00pm?
It would be nice to put some faces to names.

I won't be there for the Courage Poker mate...I'll be there the following weekend for the Champions League though, I got a seat into a 10man tourny...winner gets flights/hotel/limousine transfer to Vegas in June so I'll be up there on 23rd..

However, I might pop down this Saturday for the Bounty tournament in the evening.

I might be down there for cash.  Usually its a 1/1 game which I hate but if theres gonna be some event down there then 1/2 will probably run.  GL

    What exactly is that?

I've never played live before and would like to give it a go, plus it's not too difficult for me to get down there so it would be nice to play with some people from the forum in the future...

My friends are the type of people that say yeah I love poker, bla bla bla then when it comes to it they don't have a feckin clue grr! so frustrating! Trying to teach it aswell = frustrating!

Any reccomendations for the type of game to play there first time?

Best bet is to start off with a dealer dealt tournie, a good one is the £50 deepstack on a Wednesday or the £40 with £20 rebuys on a Thursday.

Both start at 8.30 I think.

The staff are friendly and a few forum regs go to Luton quite often (including TK/LML/Orford) so if you give a few days notice on when you are intending to make it down there then you will meet some forum people.

Hi Ness, I can't believe you would EVER be sat in a corner alone but if you haven't played live before I would recommend that you go when the SPT is at Luton on March 6th. Even if you don't qualify, there will be plenty of familiar and friendly faces to look after you because it can be quite daunting the first time! Hope to see you there! ;)

    Hi

You can go along and rail, you must first become a member, you can do this online to save time, I beleive membership is free, but take along two forms of ID, unfortunately, it will be unlikely you will be able to take part in the main event, there are usually SNG tables running as people get knocked out (people read Orford;))

You are welcome to pop along and play the side events, have a few drinks, meet everyone etc. I'll be doing that.
You will have to register as a member of G Casino but that's fairly painless. Sign up on their website first then just turn up and sign a form / have your photo taken!

*edit - same time as Barry! lol

I'm planning on visiting, may even stay over for a few days. I went along to Manchester SPT to meet the folks but couldn't stay too long. This time I don't have any other commitments :)
    See ya there!
