What do most people do when going to these events? drive down and stay over, have a few drinks etc? - or is it it a case of going down, playing then driving home?

R there hotels/bnb's etc around? I wudnt like to have to go n come bak, maybe stay over a couple of nights, have a night out, play some cash games the next day etc - long way to go down from south yorkshire just for a 1 off sorta thing.....

Anyone plan to stay over or owt? - Wud like to play and meet some of u guys.

Yeah would be great if there is a local hotel with a good rate on through Sky.

I'm only 30mins away but wouldn't mind having a good drink and a few games with some guys off here.

If worst comes to worst Im happy to let someone kip up at mine and then head down again the next day for a tourny.

So there's no direct buyin? I'm very tempted to try and go...

I have family/friend in cambridge and MK which isn't too far away. alternatively i'd find somewhere as cheap as possible.

There are no plans to facilitate direct buy-ins, so if you really wish to play the Luton Leg, Satellites are the only certain route.

There were no plans to offer direct buy-ins for Newcastle, it's fair to say, but the weather did cause "a few" headaches, & taking all things into consideration, a few Direct Buy-Ins were made available a day or so before the Event.

What "fiasco" are you referring to? By general concensus, the Event was a spectacular success.

Lol, the last "fiasco" ended up as Sky Poker's funniest ever thread, & it's up to about 20 pages now!

I think using the word "fiasco" would be called "hyperbole". ;)

Jeez TK wind yer neck in,as i said it was a "tongue in cheek " remark, as one of the qualifiers who could not travel to Newcastle as i was snowed in,i understood the "debacle-fiasco" as i so obviously offenssively put it,
I will keep my humourous remarks to myself in future.

For those who think i was offensive, read my earlier posts where i said i understood all skys decisisions regarding Newcastle, and even offered my seat for free (pretty offensive) when i realised i was unable to go.

I never suggested it was "offensive", I was just curious what you meant by "fiasco" & "debacle", & if you had a problem, I was keen to help.

For ME it was a debacle and a fiasco through the weather, and so i wished i waited untill the day to decide wether i wanted to "purchase a seat direct and at no time did i say that sky had made it a fiasco debacle.

    Sir,

I'm not trying to have a barney here. You said "aint going through the Newcastle fiasco again". I took that to mean you were less than enamoured with something. No more, no less.

I'm sorry you were unable to attend.
