On the 11th Day of December, my true love gave to me...

Sky Poker TV!

Live Thursday Night

11th December

Channel 861 or streamed from skypoker.com

With...

Orford Roasting On An Open Fire

And

Mason Nipping At Your Nose

Five hours of live poker await you, where we could drop in at the

drop of a hat on any TV tournament table or any TV cash table.

On Tuesday's broadcast, you saw Ross Jarvis show you how to

come 2nd in an MTT, featuring his play. Well, tonight we'll

show you how NOT to play an MTT, courtesy of MY play. Honestly,

it's just as instructional, in it's own way.. ;-)

We’ll also do some…

JENeral Knowledge!

Send in your multiple choice questions-poker or non-poker- to

Sky Poker's sharpest tool in the box.

I'll put them to her and if you can stump Jen, your name will

go in the hat, from which at the end of the night, we'll draw

winners of tournament entries.

We'll also stick in the hat anyone who has a hand request

shown or a good message read out.

Get involved!

via email skyopen@bskyb.com

via Twitter using #skypokertv

or simply by posting it on this thread.

See you all tonight at 7pm!

Why is New York called the 'Big Apple' ? I had this in a quiz the other week & I didn't have a clue.....I won't add the answer just now incase Jen decides to have a mosey at the thread!

Cheers for that Cardiff, can you put three options down (a) (b) and (c) with one of them being the correct answer. So, she has a fighting chance?

Jen, if you're reading this, then read no further! I don't want you seeing the answers before I read the  questions out to you.

Cardiff and everyone else- the coast is clear- fire away!

    No probs mate

    a) during the depression, many former financiers would travel from their suburban cottages in full suits in order to sell apples on the streets of New York.

    b) In the early 1920s, "apple" was used in reference to the many racing courses in and around New York City. Apple referred to the prizes being awarded for the races – as these were important races, the rewards were substantial.

    c) comes from a famous nineteenth century brothel madam named Eve whose girls were cheekily referred to as her “Big Apples.”

The answer is B -  its from a catchphrase used in the 1920s by New York Morning Telegraphsports writer John J. Fitz Gerald in his horse racing column, “Around the Big Apple.”

    A question of Jeneral knowledge:

Jennifer, how is it possible that Pixie was eliminated from Strictly on Sunday?

    A) The world's gone mad!

    B) ...

    C) ...

The answer is A: The World's gone MAD!

(Did I make that too easy?)

Doesn't matter too much. Frankie was always going to win anyway.

    Have a good show.

When did Bolton Wanderers last win the FA Cup final?

     a 1923

     b 1942

     c 1958

It was c (sure Jen will know that 1923 was their 1st win and of course she'll know there was no 1942 FA cup due to the war).

Obviously I am extremely keen to beat Jen but she is just way too clever. If she gets any of these I will get her for sure, I have dozens more up my sleeve.
