Hi i dont want my first post to be neg one But (lol)

Hi like the headline says I don't really want my first post on here to be a negative one,
 Firstly I would like to say that sky was recommended to me by someone who has played a lot on here over the last year, and has nothing but complementary things to say about the site, forum and promos that are ran by the site and on first glance I would tend to agree (here comes the inevitable however), However having registered  via webpage I have tried to download the software onto my computer but its just wont happen/work I just keep getting a message at end of download saying .sorry an error has occurred the application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged .Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author . I contacted c.s last night who gave me some scripted response which has not worked either any ideas why I cant download the sw would be appreciated
I am  on windows 8  using i.e  if that makes any difference

    I've got a new laptop over the Christmas Period and I get exactly the same message. I've tried several times, both saving the download and running it directly, tried immediately after a re-boot, etc.

    Good job you can still play via the browser though (which is what I do most of the time anyway)

    Good advice, I recently bought a new laptop and downloaded the sky poker app on chrome with no problems.

    Hi thanks for the well wishes, hopefully i will run better at the tables than i have at trying to download the software lol,
    I have now downloaded chrome and tried to download again alas to no avail (thanks for trying anna)

    I had the same error message but tried again and it worked. Can't remember whether I was on IE or chrome at the time (think it was still IE) - I managed to download it but after having a few problems when playing with the DL reverted back to just playing via browser - much better not having to deal with bugs/problems again!!

    The problem with this is when playing on laptop,If i want to muti table more than 6 tables there will be resizing ussues i think?
    not so much of a problem if im on normal computer although not ideal

    well i turned off laptop,restarted, logged into chrome and it worked this time,
     so thanks for the advise Anna

    Okay, so I bit the bullit and installed Chrome (to my newer laptop). Didn't help at all.


    What's worse is that I can not open up any tables, on either machine, in any browser or via the download client (on my older machine where the client can be installed). I've spent the best part of two hours on and off with Live Chat, trying all sorts of deleting flash, re-installing it, clearing Temporary Internet Files, switching it off and on again etc. and all i'm still getting is the splash screen and the round white bits in the middle going round and round. Occasionally it does report a communications error and then it logs me out of Sky Poker as well. Somehow I did manage to get a cash table up about an hour and a half ago for an orbit, closed that and expected the Mini (for which I had been registered) to open , but no, just the same screen. and I can see myself in the lobby being blinded out. All in all, the best part of an evening wasted.

    I know there's nothing any of you can do about it, but I just needed somewhere to vent!
