so overall another very good day, got knocked out of the Main Event in 11th, was sitting well in 3rd but then shoved QQ into KK and struggled from then on, did well to get as high up as i did in the end.
My thoughts on the hand so you start the hand with 16 big blinds and 17/25 with 21 seats.
In terms of chip ev its a call as your way ahead of the shovers range.
But here icm comes in so while your making money in chip ev i havnt done any program simulations to find out but id be surprised if this wasnt a fold in terms of icm.
16 big blinds is a lot of chips in a satelite your stack is worth more than it would be in a normal tournament. When we lose the hand here its an icm disaster as were in a great spot to get the seat.
In this kind of situation i think your calling range should be pretty tight.
Another thing to think about is it takes a better hand to call with than to shove with. So if you blind down a bit and get like 67off or something and your on like button or even the cutoff you can jam into stacks that dont want to call off and get folds so often. You need to pick the right people to do it against tho as some players wont undersatnd icm!
Overall think its a good fold with the icm considerations.
Another very good profitable session, didnt finishwork until 1am btu thought id have a small session before heading to bed, played 1 MTT and finally converted a FT into a win for £50 ish, i guess i owe sky a thankyou for runing the MTT promo as part of the winter giveaway, it gave me the oppurtunity to give myself a decent session of MTT'srather than just the odd 1 or 2 and to build my confidence up, i know now that i am good enough to make profit from the mtt's on this site not just the Dyms and will be playing MTT's more often as a result.
Another very good session, but im very very annoyed with the £20 dym game, not that i played it and it being outside my BR, i did the research first, knew i had an edge on 4 of the 5 players at the table, but omg did i let myself down on the bubble and really should be sat here with £60 profit instead of 20, but ill get over it and grind away some more tonight .
Another good day on the Dyms, Mtt's finished about break even, but i put my first football bet of the season on today, a £20 trixie on leicester, bournemouth and tottenham and that came steaming on in for a nice profit
So the idea was to win enough money to take my family to disneyland in febuary, but if i carry on like i have been thelast week or so, might even be able to get out there for xmas . in all seriousness though, another very good night. found the step up to the 11's fairly simple so far, although the sample size is obviously quite small at the moment, theres no reason for me to think this cant continue.
It was another profitable night, but it started horribly, took alot of telling myself to just play through it as i was often getting it in ahead. had a great run in the middle of 11 straight wins and the finished up and down. happy to be in profit and also got a very good start to my weekly points, on course for easily my highest ever weekly and monthly totals.
Another very very good session today i won 15/18 £11 dyms and 2/2 £22 DYMs, i also had one of my £11 buy ins refunded due to a very naughty boy very openly colluding to ensure i didnt cash, that was handled very well by CC.
Alright mate. I haven't been on for a while, so first of all, congrats on the new arrival. Secondly, congrats on your recent results! Often wondered why you didn't have a stab at higher DYM levels as your game is spot on. All the best for Christmas and the new year. Posted by waller02
cheers mate,
the main reasons for not moving up sooner was never really having the BR to and every time ive tried to in the past its always started badly so ive moved back down. more a confidence thing than anything else, but i know for sure iver got a good enough game for them now so probably going to be my regular grinding spot. hopefully will see you in a few of them soon
Well what a Up and down session that was lost 8/9 of the first 10 and ended up -£100 in no time at all, making what i though were good decisions in most games. but managed to turn it around and grind through it, to end the session only 99p down has to be seen as a good result. took a major leap towards the 2000 point mark that im aiming for this week. im still in the Fr but probs wont finish before i start work so may have to afk and see what happens
Another enojyable session tonight, tables were alot tougher than they had been since i moved up to the £11 dyms, so im very pleased to come out of the session in profit. obviously wont be any more play today with it being xmas at all but come boxing day im planning on grinding hard, can defintely see priority in my sites for this month. i have 3854 points to go which works out at 643 per day, which i have been averaging easily since the move up in stakes.
I'm just in awe of how you have worked at your game & become so successful, & how well you cope with the occasional bit of adversity. That's the REAL judge of our character & mettle, how we cope when things go wrong.
I use a similar (but less well-presented) method to you in measuring & analysing my DYM's, & I adore the ebbs & flows, but days like you had on 23rd December (P29, W23 I think?) are what the game is all about.
More of the same in 2016. Pretty sure you will continue to do well, as you are not afraid to self-analyse honestly.
