SPT Luton: Sky discount hotel deal

edited February 2010 in The Sky Poker Tour

We have looked at hotel rates for SPT Luton and the best rate we can get is at the Days Inn. The rooms are £60 per night plus breakfast for either a single or double room. Customers need to give the reference ‘G casino- Sky Poker discount’ to get the offer when they call. The hotel is about 100 yards from the casino.

Days Hotel Luton

Regent Street

Luton

LU1 5FA

08704 299540

The only other hotel is the Best Western Menzies Strathmore who is offering the following:

Single room plus breakfast @ £29.75

Double room plus breakfast @ 46.75

This would be for online bookings only for a limited time and they are unable to offer us any other deal or say when the offer ends.

I called up Days Hotel (is this a different place? postcode is LU1 5FA) direct on their Luton phone number 01582 878090 and booked a room without mentioning any codes etc and got a room for £36 (would be £44 incl b/fast). Car parking is £4.50 for 24 hrs in the car park next door. I'm told it's a five minute walk from the casino.

    Confused? I am.

    Hi Guys,

Don't be confused, i've just this minute booked a 2 night stay at the Days Inn and i got them for £88 with breakfast(£44 per night). Try ringing the hotel directly, as this sometimes gets a better deal than the official Sky deal.

Sometimes, I think the hotel hears "Sky" and thinks, "Hmm, we can charge them a bit more"

If in doubt, try ringing them direct and see if you can beat the deal!

I just booked online at Daysinn.com for £34.50 - should be a great event... Sky rates are a bit strange but, once the no. of available rooms goes down, maybe they will appear more reasonable?  Book early for best rates...

    Hi All

I have just spoken to the hotel and they seem to be changing the rates on a daily basis. The Days Inn is the nearest hotel to the Casino but there are cheaper options around. It all depends if you want to walk or drive to the casino.

If I find any other options I will let you know, but sometimes it is a little easier to book online directly and get the 'saver' option rather then book through what they offer us. The 'saver' option does not always include breakfast and you might not be able to get a refund should you want to cancel.

    Thanks

After a lengthy chat with the Days Inn hotel they are now reducing the double room charge to £50 including breakfast. For all those people that have already paid £60 this will be reduced to £50 when you checkout at the hotel.

For people that have paid the reduced fee of either £44 or £36 this is for pre paid booking. This means the hotel will not be giving refunds should you want to cancel. This would have been made clear on the site when you made the original booking.

Prices on the site fluctuate on a weekly basis, so next week they could charge £80 for a room if they need to hit certain targets.

Should you have any problems with your bookings please let me know otherwise see you all in Luton! :)

Sounds like there's a posse of us at the Premier Inn then.  How are people planning to cope with the post-2pm check-in?  Try a 2am check-in?  Hmm...

    Plan?

I called the place before booking and explained that the event will be starting around half 1 - 2 so is it possible that I can check in earlier....

They said it should be fine, they have a room where they can hold luggage.... So i'm going to check in at 1pm... If it suddenly becomes that it's not possible then it will just have to be at 2am lol
