Three hands from 1 BH table, Feedback Please

Some feed back on these, same table, sequential hands please.
Table very aggro, bigstacks calling any raise with PP or big A?

1: Villain has either PP or big A, too early to be commiting pre?

2: Should have raised bigger pre, but villain is always calling here with PP.

3: Flopped nuts, need villain to bet, A is good card for me to rep,
with shove on turn I have villain on A9, from previous action on table.
Happy days, UNTIL the infamous SKY river, lol NOT.

Your play is way to nitty

kK - why would you not 3 bet? Then flop I am betting out for value. If you do not want to build a pot pre with premiums how can we expect to make most of them?

As played, river is a call IMO,

Hand two, agree with fold there as played

Hand 3, played correct just vul.

Last 2 are pretty standard but hand #1 imo you've played every street incorrectly

Think we should be betting the flop in hand 2. Not an ideal board for AA but still value to be had from a range of hands. Trivial fold when the other 2 go to war. Also the raise pre is fine, no need to go more than 3x really.

''Flopped nuts, need villain to bet''. Don't really agree with that in this scenario. We should be looking to build the pot, not relying on villains to pile their chips in for us. Pot is 600 on flop, so we don't need to bet much to look to get stacks in on the turn or river. When you smash a flop like this it can be difficult to get action, but often if you don't bet then no-one else will, and there are hands that will probably hang around on that flop for at least a street; J10, KJ, K10, Qx (unlikely I know!), obvs any 9 isn't going anywhere, plenty of pairs might not believe your cbet as well, plus you might even induce an airball from someone a tad loose ;)

Hands 2 and 3 probably shouldn't even exist anyway as hand one really should be gg.

    Thanks for the feedback.
Correct harry, hands 2 & 3 probably shouldn't exist, but when do you not trust your reads?
Somebody somewhere (pokergods?) decided I was not to progress in that particular BH tourney.

Played four Premium hands (correctly with reads), but still was never going to win in three of them.
Just goes to show, on sky, when you think your Premium hands are valuable, think again.

As stated in OP, the early reads on the villain were, aggro with any big A pre and calling with PP.
They had already busted two players using this tactic, and as above hands, they hit everything.

Hand 1, blinds only 20/40 so I think it is too early to be getting it in vs this oppo with only a pair.
Too nitty perhaps, but read it correctly, If no A on flop then its getting busy vs villain.
See other hand below, between 1st & 2nd, which played out standard, without the villain involved.

Hand 2, I've raised my AA and got two calls, villain OOP set mining imho, other caller no reads,
flop is very connected and hits villains range hard, so decide to check and re-evaluate.
The post flop action speaks for itself, sigh fold and look for better spot.

Hand 3, Standard raise pre, two callers again, villain OOP again, flopped FH, how to get paid.
Re: previous table action and reads on villain, check flop to induce, (bet probably TID there),
A on turn is good for villains calling range, so I bet small, the re-shove says I got it right.
The villain again got there on the river. :(

Here's another hand just after the 1st one above. (I had KK, KK, AA three hands in a row)

Perhaps this would be more at home in BBV than the clinic? Seems like you're pretty content with your play, judging by the self analysis in the post above.

With the blinds at just 20/40, you seem to have a very concrete read on villain. If he goes mad with any Ace, why on earth wouldn't we look to get as many chips in pre with KK?

Not sure what that other KK hand has to do with anything! :)

Hands 1 and 2 you lost the absolute minimum but imo you were mistaken - for long term value you need to be reraising pre in hand 1 and betting flop in hand 2.

Hand 1 should just be a cooler and you should be prepared to shove /call all-in pre with KK, especially in a B/H.

Hand 2 bank on being ahead and bet to take pot down or keep smaller pairs in/charge str8 draws - dont want to give a free card when so many cards can connect with that flop. Obviously when betting gets crazy easy fold.

Hand 3 dont get reluctance to cbet here either. You didnt cbet when maybe ahead with AA and drawing board
and you dont cbet when you flop the world. When do you cbet?

It seems (over this small sample) that you are playing too passively and looking for nut hands and opponents to do all the work for you to get the chips in the middle? That combination of events just doesn't happen often enough.

So why arent we piling more money in pre flop if they are aggro players? and as for the last sentence that is really poor thinking, KK is the 2nd pre flop nuts and against 'aggro players' I'd be getting KK in for value any day of the week, QQ too and possibly even JJ

This is definitely asking for help rather than moaning about bad beats, yeah?

What level buy-in are we talking about here?

The first hand has been covered to death, no reason not to 3 bet KK pre flop and be happy getting it in. Only reason I'd ever consider 3bet / fold would be if I had an absolute stone cold read that oppo was super tight and only ever 4-betting AA (although would probably still get it in a lot of the time!)

Only reason not to 3bet (imo) is if you have notes/expectations that the button or blinds are the sort to squeeze too frequently (although when you then 4-bet their squeeze you look even stronger still!)

Hand 2 I can see an argument for not betting flop, it sucks if we get raised and with two to act there is lots of opportunties for semi-bluffs where we can be put in a spot where we maybe fold the best hand / call and find ourselves crushed. Early in a tournament I think this line can have merits. Although FWIW I'd still bet like 250-300 and fold to the bets, because I don't really want to fold AA to one bet / don't want to be face up when this situation repeats itself but I have TT and lead out to try and get it all in. Happy to be challenged that I'm wrong in doing that though.

Hand 3, meh, bad beat. Happens wherever you play your poker.

hand 1- gotta go broke.. especially when playing under starting stack, I guarantee qq/ak call you.

hand 2- gotta continuation bet, although once you face 2 shoves then you can definitely get away.

hand 3- only interesting hand imo. DO NOT CHECK FLOP.. just looks sooo suspicious, you need to play your hand as if you have 10J/77/Q10 etc, i.e take a small stab at the pot, it builds the pot and also doesnt give away any reads to your opponent about your hand strength. the end result is irrelevant
