Bottom set awkward spot

So background, not long at the table and readless pretty much. 3 better has 3b us a couple of times although from memory has been btn v bb and we never got to a showdown. Peeled because i hadn't previously 4b, early indications suggested he was better than the average joe at this level aswell so felt suddenly 4b from UTG would look to a thinking player exactly what we have. c/r the flop because i feel he'll hit this board fairly hard and be unable to fold a huge amount of hands we beat. +1 snap ships and he snap calls. Suddenly I'm hating life. I've added my action but not results to avoid RO replies but give a thought. I used my full timebar and this is the exact kind of spot i demand sky impliments a proper timebank for. 15 seconds just isn't enough in game. Anyways, thats a different debate and would like some thoughts on and please.

Not being results orientated, player a is unlikely to have a bigger set (and they are the one shoving) so either have JT or, more likely given its nl4(?), some sort of Ax hand that they aren't confident playing down the streets but don't want to fold (only because it's at this level).

I'd say player x must have AA/KK/AK/KQ/AQ (given low 3b frequency at these cash levels and willingness to still 1/2 pot/call shove).  Obv KQ/AQ are less likely given you block them.

So yeah, I think x is way ahead a good proportion of the time, add in the possibility of a having JT as a big part of their range and fold is probably the right answer.

Obviously in flow I snap it off at NL4 (given my comments at the table!) but taking time to look back it's a really good fold.

Shame I couldn't get through twitch adverts in time to see how you reacted when that hand came up!! :)

very interesting, i saw this hand/played it and it was a very weird scenario. without saying results or what either of us had i was probably a bit loose in this hand. although was a tough decision, probs should have folded flop to re raises/all ins

We need 23.2% equity and against a range of JT, AQ, AK and KK for player 1 and JT, AQ and AK for player 2 we have 25%. If we add AA to player's 2 range we have 23%. Based on this, I'm pretty sure it's a call. Both villains would need to have almost all combos of AA and KK in their range to make this a clear fold and given the lack of a 4b from player a then that becomes pretty unlikely.

    No need to raise flop

raising and then folding is terrible

its nl4, open bigger the don :p

To be honest Q's is barely a value hand live or online these days.  When we 4bet what are we hoping for?

It does feel like a fold sometimes...... but we have to obvz bring in how often is oppo overplying/misplaying his hand...which likely makes it a call.  Especially at nl4 where these 2 factors are likely to be high.

Live we could really feel the spt out, but with the ridic short alloted time given by sky and no timbar it is def a call, but not being surprised to see the worst.  Hope your well Don
