Interested to know the numbers and looking for feedback from when I hit trips and lost

Hopefully my hand has copy and pasted below, I hit trip 4's and lost to trip 9's. I was 5th out of 29 and the other player had me slightly covered, there was a flush draw on the board which I let the turn come to keep my customer and was over the moon when my 3 bet got a 4 bet all in on the turn. My main question is, was this a straight forward play of which I was extremely unlucky or should I show any caution when playing a pair that has hit trips? i.e if I managed to get all the chips in everytime would I be laughing all the way to the final table in the long run.

As a sidenote, I enjoy the ease of calling with a low pair and chucking if a scary board comes out or trying to get all the chips in if I hit a set.

I'd be really interested to hear any numbers or win percentages if anyone has them and I'm not asking for estimates from someone having a guess. ;)

Thanks for help.
