Brilliant updates from Sky Dan and the rest of the sky team. Thank you for putting on such a great event.
What a top weekend meeting so many friendly and different people from sky. Thank you everyone for such overwhelming support. Everyone on that final table would have been a worthy winner as it was a great battle. Ps I was routing for George to win as soon as I was knocked out. Some big outdraws to knock people out on that table.

Thanks Sky and DTD for running the events, it was nice meeting so many different people.  I've forgotten your name, and your alias, but missy / jez (guy with hot blonde daughter) I'll be on the earliest train to Newquay tomorrow

Well done to Harry. I didn't get to play with him and don't really know him but he seemed like he played very well. Richard is someone I've known for a while and he definitely is a top player so Harry did well to beat him.

Great job on the updates from Dan, Tikay, Tighty and Sam (hope I didn't forget anyone).

     Excellent event all round.

Just being around some very experienced tournament players made me look at my game and recognise a number of things that I was doing wrong. Last night I played at my local casino in a cheap freezeout and although I didn't win it I did make the final table and played a solid game.

Having the chance to observe the final table hand-for-hand was pretty cool actually. It was like watching your favourite sport pitch/ring-side.

I spoke to Richard Hawes (2nd place) in the hotel on Monday morning as he was having breakfast with his missus. He said they were heading up to Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival. I remember playing with him 6-7 years ago and recognising that he was clearly doing things that I wasn't even thinking about. So yeah, this weekend has certainly made an impression on me and left me to ponder a lot of aspects of my game.

    Anyone else have similar experiences?

Yes the atmosphere and actually watching how it's done properly, without pushing buttons, next thing to learn is not to be frightened of betting chips and how many to actually put in. Getting tips off melty and watching all the players has made me want to get into it more.

Yes have to echo alot of the comments on this thread,as this was my first sky poker event the experience was one i will never forget and cant wait for the next one.

The whole weekend ran like clock work with alot of hard work from all the guys at skypoker, the DTD staff are second to none along with them lovely young ladies bringing the drinks and food,i blame that for my bad poker play to much wondering eyes.

To all the peeps i met and chatted to over the 3 days could not have met a nicer bunch of guys and gals all so friendly.

I thought the weekend was going to be topped of by my good friend and room mate micheal lyons winning the main event but sadly was not to be,but still a fantastic performance to reach the FT took quite a bit of grinding to get their showing great skill...

Sky dan totally know were your coming from, observing and watching how these guys play poker just shows me ive a **** of alot to learn, having spent the whole of friday on the table with paul mctaggart and richard blacklock to name but a few just in aww of these guys..

Hi Neil, I was squeezed in between those two, given that you and mkgunnner were also on the table, it was a great learning experience. I made a few really bad plays (one very basic mistake of not noticing stack size) that were of course ruthlessly exploited and we can but learn from those instances. It really was a fantastic event, I really enjoyed it and I hope that somewhere in my stubborn mind I will eventually realise that sometimes they DO have it :-)

I used to find after a long summer in Vegas I always played my best poker in the following few weeks, I just felt my standard had risen.

I think it's hard to improve as you get older, hard but possible, but I think it just takes work and as we all know work is hard. If you were inspired by the weekend and it's making you better then enjoy that, you're lucky.
