Tikay, I remember reading a post of yours on another thread when you had unearthed some amazing statistics about how community forums on other sites are so rarely used.
I think everyone (well nearly everyone - there are always some bad uns) appreciates your input into the many varied threads on this forum, espeicially when you are allowed to give us an insight into the reasoning behind some of the decisions made.
The forum on Sky is great and while it is inevitable that from time to time you get one or two threads and posters who get nasty or air the 'online poker is rigged' line, I think generally everything is done in pretty good spirits and long may it continue!
Great news that Spt has not been binned forever, I had a fab time at the one which was recently organised by sky players, these are always fun events and it would make my day/year to meet Mr K and the crew of sky alongside the regular posters on here.
In Response to Re: Sky Poker - will they, won't they? : Someone on here last week thought that Derbyshire was "!up north". What DO they teach in schools these days? Posted by Tikay10
Of course Derbyshire is "up north". Up North starts at about Taunton. Devon is "the Midlands".

Yes, that was a Post about how Poker Forums, generally, are on the wane, for a variety of reasons, mainly social-media & other modern day behavioural patterns. Most "tied" Poker Forums - Ladbrokes was a great example - closed, of course, as the Forums were just being used to bash them up. Players can be rude to the Site, but the Site can't respond in kind, of course, so the Sites are a soft target for low blows.
A week or so ago, Sky Poker asked me to see if I could help make this Forum a better place - a poisoned chalice if ever I saw one - but I'm game for a laugh, & I certainly intend to give it a good try. This thread was very important in that challenge, imo.
It's quite hard to overcome sarcasm & bad manners, especially by people who are nice as pie face to face, but it's not intentional, they just don't realise how the written word can come across so badly if not used with care.
Understanding better why The Business does some of the things it does has to be a good thing, I'd say, & bravo to Sky Poker for being so forthcoming.

Behave Barny.
I'm not even sure Cornwall is in England, they are a separate country I think.

Did the kilt, string vest and bottle of whisky give it away ;-).
These live events are brilliant, its often really odd seeing faces you recognise from being on the show or from other areas, yourself, Neil Channing, Ryan Spittles etc etc... you feel like you know them, then remember that actually you've never met.
So impressed that you buzz about so much, doing your work, playing poker, dealing with questions and still manage to chat and smile.......was really great to meet you.
BTW for some strange reason I thought Simon Trumper was like a giant wrestler, turned out he was shorter than me

Great news that SPTs are not completely dead in the water. The UKPC was fab - and the meet ups was fantastic - but I think a SPT meet up just can't be beat!!
Thanks for the updates Mr Tikay - appreciate you trying for us lot!!
SPTs maybe coming back is great news, I have been to the occassional one in the past and it would be terrific to attend another. Might have to get a new suit!!
It great that spt's might be coming back being able to meet up with the players you that play online on a regular basis that are nothing more that a screen name to you.But one thing IF they do come back could you please make then a reasonable buy in because they sound like real fun and friendly to play in but we are not all high rollers that can afford a £200 plus buy in.

+1 to sensible buy ins. Never been to an spt but heard all about them. Fake spt and the ukpc was brilliant loved every single minute of it. Hope if they come back and i will be able to make it.

Was the £2.20 @2.20 deepstack mentioned, in your discussion group.
All the best.

It's not confirmed yet, but it is the current plan.
