Although it is a great idea to be able to watch Sky's finest on Twitch, it is fraught with problems. Not necessarily impossible to overcome. Sky would have a reputation to maintain, which would involve ensuring compliance to a code of conduct by any players taking part. The stream may even have to be re-routed through Sky itself, to allow them to moderate. There are endless possibilities.
GPI ran a few tests earlier this year. Might be worth someone at Sky taking a look at those...
It would be great for there to be a regular stream by different players under the Sky umbrella. It's still early days for Twitch, so it may yet happen.
In Response to Re: Poker Leak : I've always assumed that it is free, though? I watch a lot of Casey Jarzebeks (Bigdogpckt5) stream and he uses his laptops webcam and mic and free software and thats it?? Or am I missing something... Posted by Epoker
If sky are putting their name to something then they need to ensure the quality is of an appropriate standard.
A sky employee would therefore have to be involved, they seem to like to get paid at the end of the month so there is a cost there. Also, its not just the case of needing one employee involved as it will need input from senior members of the sky team to ensure the content was in line with the overall plan etc. This would need constant monitoring too.

if this is the case, then why did they invite you on to the show?
That'll be the same Casey Jarzabek who forgot to close down his Twitch stream at the end of a session and accidentally broadcast 'adult entertainment' (the word I want to use isn't allowed, it begins with 'p' and ends with 'orn'), getting himself banned from Twitch temporarily. Just one of the many potential pitfalls Sky would face if they allowed players to broadcast on some sort of official Sky Twitch account.
If a trusted popular player here streamed regularly and built an audience maybe Sky might want to be sponsors. Apart from that it's hard to see what else they can do with Twitch.
Just finished doing some prep work. I've managed to find the lever that allows you to record broadcasts, as it is turned off by default. Everything seems to be working okay. Just need to knock up some loosely scripted thoughts to keep things on track and avoid silent pauses between folds. Out for a couple of beers tomorrow, which usually loosens up my thought process. And some of my teeth, if I get home too late.

It still cracks me up thinking about this.
That morning (UK time) he was playing and streaming a poker session.
I was watching, and when he finished he 'hosted' a fellow streamer.
However I didn't turn over, and I saw him continue to be on the facecam, and was playing facebook games and replying to his emails and messages/
I thought this was pretty weird, so left it running until he turned the lights off in his room and left, leaving the computer on but the screen blank.
I left, and came back to look at the twitch listings 3/4 hours later.
On the thumbnail previewing his stream there was a well known AE site.
It instantly clicked what had happened.
Couldn't have happened to a better comedy figure either.

Good luck to bench and the--don on twitch tonight, im glad to see more people giving it a go
I seemed to have a few drop outs. The entire games has recorded into 6 or 7 separate bits, with the longest at around 55 minutes. Think I might need more cpu power or memory. My broadband connection is usually fine. End up on for nearly two hours. Didn't cash. As expected.
My first twitch broadcast ended up as a bit of a mish-mash. I think the stream was of poor quality and after stretching past my 30 minute target, it almost became a dirge. Will have to rethink my technical and creative strategy here.
As for my poker. It was shamefully embarrassing. I was all over the place. Spending too much time messing about really threw me off my game. I had a couple of lucky breaks, but with not capitalising on early chances, I was left with having to find a spot to shove in the middle of a high card wasteland.
Its a fun stream but your logic is counter-intuitive.
You don't need to be scared of a flush draw when you have AKQJT - you need to draw value from the draw if there is one. More likely you get paid off by 2 pair combos.
Likewise, when you have KQ suited, don't raise 6x to fold out worse hands. Play it as standard cos it flops well, multi-way too. If you raise 6x - hands like JQ, J10, KJ etc all fold. They are the hands you want to play against cos you dominate them. Small pairs too cos you can c-bet them off most flops.
That being said, i wouldn't have the guts (or hardware) to do it so very well done!
I've been tweaking some settings (not a euphemism) and hopefully I can get better broadcast quality (and better poker).
I've saved a quick SnG test game I played yesterday. It's on my Twitch page as a highlight. It shows how to misplay pocket pairs, straights and about every other hand you can have. However, it also shows you how spotting someone with a very loose range may just help you out...
I've also uploaded it to youtube aswell, to test the export function..
Yes, I was disappointed with the quality myself. I have been trying to edit them together to make something watchable, but I am struggling.
Have decided to cut down on some of the 'special effects' to increase the quality. I've made some changes to the broadcasting settings and am also trying to upgrade a second desktop to try out.
Been a bit pushed for time this week to collect a lot of information for tonight, but I'll still do one to see what the output is like.

Late in the game, I had KK in the SB. Everyone folded before I even bet, with the BB being away.
After that, I had 63, 53, T2, 53, J6, J2, 63, 73, 76, 97, 68, T2, T6, 52, K6, T7, 75, 76, 85, Q9s, T8, J3, K8s.
As I was short stacked, I shoved the K6o, then the Q9s. Finally losing out on my best hand of a bad run, the K8s.
Not sure I could have done much more there. As you can see, not only were my cards low, but they weren't even suited.

Thanks for your support.
Finished 24/107. Actually managed to take a head, so not all bad.
I've improved my hardware for another shot.
