£10 free tournament tokens

I deposited £5 just now to take advantage of a promotion that gets me £10 of free tournament tokens.
Once I could see the £10 worth of tokens in my account, I opened up two £5.50 DYMs and chose to use the tokens for both games. For the first one I don't seem to have been charged anything but for the second one I have been charged £3.
From past experience, I would have expected both games to be totally free as the promo tokens have never included the rakeback before. Yet in this case I've only received £8 of credit at most.
Is this standard practice now?
