In Response to Re: Last Man Standing - Day Four.:
Great little competition this tikay. Your idea? Not surprised a forum full of poker players were using position tactically hehe.

Ha, no, not my idea, I nicked it from Tighty, & he probably nicked it from someone else. I just adapted it a bit (badly...) & thought "let's see if it generates a bit of fun, gets people to come back every day".

It's USUALLY used for Sporting competitions - football or NFL results, that sort of thing. Everyone chucks in £5, £10 or £20 or whatever, (just the first time, not again) & select a team that will win next Saturday or Sunday. If your team fails to win, you are out, & everyone else progresses to the next week. You can't select the same team twice, either, so it does get quite tactical. I'm down to the last 3 in an NFL Last Man Standing this week, & there is £400 to the winner. (I need The Patriots to win this weekend, oioi).

To be honest, I've messed this one up a bit, & Super Sam in the Office gave me some premiership grade mocking, but whatever, if you don't try, you never succeed, do you? It's high maintenance, too, needs a bit of work every day, but I don't mind that. If I do it again, I'll change a few things. I'm fine with "tactical" play though, that's part of the fun.

I'm just trying to find ways to increase interest in the Community, rev it up a bit, get the fun factor back in to this Forum, to balance the chuntering & negativity. Other poker sites don't have Forums, & there's a good reason for that - players often use it as a stick to bash the site up. There are some who have never made a single positive post. They'd be first to complain if Sky Poker closed the Forum though.

I was given responsibility a while back to look after this Forum, & try to freshen it up a bit, get a lighter mood & tone. So I'm giving it a bash.

I must say, the entrants in this one have played it in just the right spirit, & there has not been a single chunter. Must be a record.

Only 11 of the 13 eligible to enter submitted an entry, & 7 of those 11 will go through,  (half of 13 + the odd one). It all got a bit tactical yesterday, so for Day 5 I may have to come up with something to combat that. These were the 11 entries; IKelly, 1,475 Phantom66, 1966 FCHD, 1999 Buzka, 2,000 CxE1, 2,001 Stuarty17, 2,001 AJMilton, 2,001 POKERTREV, 2,015 FeelGroggy, 2,088 mrsduck, 2,222 winshoes, 2,474

Looks like I'm out. Fun while it lasted.

GL all those left in, especially Mrs D who would be a very worthy last man.

Hope the next answers have plenty of 2's in them.

Sealed bids via PM for the last 3 rounds?
