UKOPS Day 4 Review

edited January 2016 in Poker Chat

The battle between Guarantees & Overlay was nip & tuck yesterday, which was a good thing to see, though it depends which side of the table you sit.

The Main Event was a £!5k Guaranteed Rebuy, which made a pleasing £18,150.

The likeable cpfc_2010 shipped just shy of £5,000, & as a Palace supporter, he must be loving life right now, with Palace close to being in contention for a CL spot. Who'd have thought? Arise Lord Pardew.

Young Nutter is enjoying a good UKOPS, not bad for a SNG nut peddler, & right behind him is the veteran JAKALLY, who was born on the same day as dollie.

TheDART - named after a railway would you believe*? - will be chuffed with a mini-cash, too.

* - DART = Dublin Area Rapid Transit.

Oooooohhhhh, the rail for the Final Table of the Mini must have been hooting & hollering as young IrishRose vied to TID with the MOF, & even though she eventually failed to get the win, she'll be well pleased with 2nd. Proper player.

More UKOPS cashes for DustoLucko (how many is that?) CURT360x27 (what DOES that mean?), kickastink, Essexphil, The Boy Nutter, Adam Bromley, Matt "Nadia Comameci" Bates, & the always at it Pokey2011

TheDart hit the buffers one stop too soon, but goldnballz cashed, as did Viva Las Vegas veteran Direwolf.

    Joe1? Don't ask.

    Finally, whenever I see the alias MARYBOBBIN I can't help but be reminded of this couple;

The day began with a £1,000 Guaranteed BH @ £5.50.

Not much to report, though good to see REDARROW61 in the payout queue, & TheDart was there again.

"COFFEENCREM" just scrapoed into the money, & by spooky chance she wrote to me yesterday.

Many of you will not realise you know this young lady - it's Michelle, aka "Holdy Foldy", who used to play at Luton, DTD, & all the APAT stuff.

She is now all loved up with a lad named John, engaged & everything, (a little old to be getting engaged, imo), & by chance, I visited John's home around 7 years ago with a Sky Poker TV camera crew, & we did a bunch of interviews & stuff. I learned more about the thinking of recreational players that night than 6 months perusing 2+2.

Anyway, a special xxx & HNY to Michelle, & son Tariq.

Good stuff, thanks Rob, so he is level on cashes with the battering ram by the name of GSmith13 & AKAllin14. Pretty good, that. I'm gonna predict bearlyther will join them today, & then they can all have a nice tete-a-tete.

You have done a wicked job with that site, wp.

In the 4pm BH, plenty of regulars made the cash, headed by dangerdai in 4th.

semtex11 - quite an interesting character, MacMonster, SPT runner-up RogueCell, young Nutter again, & Tsaaaar all cashed, & sneaking into the money was another monster, Giant811, real name Gertrude. German s-o-h, see?

Another interesting name, pleased to see he is still playing here, was EASYFIX.

The early evening budget Rebuy looked fun.

A few regulars cashed, including a lovely job by LmfaoAllin, closely followed by jawzindawz, with goldnballz & Jurgen Klopp fan ynwa197525 in the dough, too, & EssexPhil just missing out.

I've never met ronkydonky, but I'd bet good money he is a fun guy or girl. A name like that has to be someone who is good fun.

The 6pm Freezeout, astoundingly, included MAXALLY again. He's on a heater, Stoke City thrashed Everton 4-3 away, life must be good. He promised me a whinge free 2016. oioi.

Serial MTT winner chrisdboy collected £218 for 3rd, & jawzindawz cashed again.

The 9pm affair was a chunky rebuy.

Dekker5207, a very big winner on Sky Poker, collected £760, with BOYDID & MilitantG cashing.

MilitsntG is a cracking chap, a real gent., He won a mini Viva Las Vegas package this year, & only then belatedly realised he could not make it. So he relinquished all rights - no arguing, no fuss, no trying to weedle something out of it. Now that's a proper bloke.

The day concluded with a £5,000 BH, & guess what, IrishRose, an awkward shaped box to play against if ever I saw one, cashed again. She must be minted.

Also in the money was DivsDreams.

It won't be so good if Lord Pardew gets snaffled up by Man U, or England. ;)

That man is a serious Manager, & a bigger job awaits.

As for you, I speak to a LOT of Sky Poker players all the time, here & elsewhere, often privately. Every single one of them sings your praises. Is it because you are stunningly good-looking? I get the same thing, all the time.

    As you say teeks
There was a load of hooting and hollering going on last night given IrishRose's deep runs. Some upstart also had the temerity to pop by to accuse her of not being a good player. Given that she was already in the cash by then and on the way to 2/400+ one can only say his timing was as bad as his sentiment.
Thanks for these updates, a most enjoyable read.

Geldy the rail last night for Rose was awesome as always. But some wanna be was having a go at her, and me too. I can handle the fish comments and the biggest pest on sky etc coming at me but there is no way Rose will be affected by negative comments thrown at her. She ran golden last night, not only final tabling 2 ukops events but winning another seat to the UKPC final on Sunday. So very well played Rose in all your games last night.

I've enjoyed reading these daily UKOPS reviews, its always good to read about the exploits of players we know or 'know of'.

Thanks for the mention and the link to the wiki page :)

Did you know (I'm sure you do), over in the USA, based in Dallas, DART is the largest light rail operator in the United States.

Certainly do, fascinating wiki page, too.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallas_Area_Rapid_Transit

Dallas is also the HQ of southwest Airlines, which was the model for the wonderful Ryanair.

It's also the home of the world's most famous grassy knoll. In fact, I can't recall ever seeing reference to a grassy knoll anywhere except Dallas.

The stunning QE2 bridge, on the M25 & over the Thames at Dartford, also has a "DART" payment system.

These fascinating facts come to you courtesy of Geek.com.

Cheers for these reviews Tikay, they are appreciated. i have enjoyed this UKOPS festival.....even played the mini REBUY last night ;)

The FT rail for Rose was full of community regulars and all were in good spirits. A few of them (Darkangel, jjjjjj and playtowin to name a few) then came to rail another FT I was one (thin brag) after the mini finished. Good stuff.
