I'd change one of the "live" poker rules, the one that says you cannot ask the total of the pot during a hand. Well not that you can't ask, but that the dealer can't count and tell you. Never quite understood why that was the rule. Posted by FCHD
I agree with this one, I hope in the future there is a screen on each table that shows the amount thats in the pot, it would speed the game up and also help colourblind people like myself who really struggle to work out what is in there

one interesting rule change proposal was floated on 2+2 [in the nvg section no less] as a barrier to hold em being solved by GTO engines
and that was that when you fold a hand you have to reveal one of your folded cards.
this added strategic element increases the game tree expoentially and maybe a necessary rule change when 6max holdem starts to be solved by GTO calculators.
Well you have to be careful or else you end up with a different game, but my changes and some have already been mentioned are (and in no particular order):-
1. The show down on the river and not showing your hand. If you choose to get involved to the level where a showdown occurs then you should be required to show your hand. If you do not wish this to happen then fold your hand earlier. You will know this will happen then and all those arguements over who needs to show, and who mucked when they perhaps shouldn't etc. and all the ill feeling would not occur. This way the game proceeds in a smoother, quicker, and friendlier manner.
2. That silly rule over not being able to raise when someone has made an all-in less than the minimum raise. This is supposed to be no limit, and again this justs causes confusion and irritates people.
3. I would like to see the rules tightened up on offensive behaviour at the table, and I don't mean the odd swear word if done in context. I mean offensive behaviour by one individual to another or others. In saying this and though I witnessed some it is no where as bad as some would believe.
The reason I pick those is that poker has changed over the years, no longer is it a seedy thing that happens in the dark backrooms of some dodgy establishment, no longer do you need the boys ready in case you win and need to get out with the money. Anybody can play now, it is no longer just the criminal element and friends but a social pastime for people to enjoy. Therefore things that cause confusion, anooyance and removing of the enjoyment of the game for the general public needs to be removed.
