I made 1 mistake and that mistake was draining chips from the other 5 players at my table, I should have just remained away myself.
in most freerolls complaining about away players might be silly but I think this MTT had far too many, when the MTT first begins if the your personal table contained 5 players sitting away then sitting away yourself could be better than playing. Rancid was part of a table which had everyone away and he makes an exit 215.
I bagged a tenner. I was waiting for the away player moans to start before posting but seeing as jac has outed me...
I was the only player on 10k chips and the only player present on my table. HAPPY DAYS. Risk free double up for the first 30 mins. More away players joined then had about 10 mins with 1 other active player. Then pretty much full tables of active players. There were still some away players on the bubble so I guess some "away scroungers" cashed. Blinds really kicked up after the break and lost a flip after cash bubble and held on for the ladder to £10.

This makes no sense. I had 5 aways and by the time i started playing i had 40k chips what's not to like. Rancid still cashed. Free money what's not to like. The more aways the better i say

draining chips from all the guys away looked great to begin with and I make chip stack 25K but now I'm on a table where chips aren't free the blinds are big and those 2-3BB stacks i won are soon lost again having to fold in SB and BB or call an all in if not go all in myself. tables where all 6 players including rancid are away can make it towards the bubble easy.
My tiny mind can't comprehend it. Why are various people complaining about away players? In a freeroll? If you are lucky enough to be sat with 5 away players, then you raise every hand as quick as possible. Would be foolish to also sit out and pass up free chips.
Don't think people should be bitter - I raised the point on another thread about away players.
Only thing I do not like is auto enrolling players - that way people at least have to register. And have slightly more intention of playing
Craig to be completely honest, by 9pm bubble was upon us and blinds 3/6k this was a £5k freerole. For you as a cash player was easiest qualification in the world and sure you got more in poker reward points for week vs a £5 min cash. It was what it was, a FR. I had 5 always and buttons bashed raised like no tomorrow! Guy came back and open shoved first hand - I had QQ for boom. Away player replaces and button bash - then guy comes back - shoves second hand and boom - my JJ turns into quads!
Then without ANYONE busting table splits and in a all there table. Had I just sat there away yeah would of scrapped £5 but then when my AA was cracked I would of been out, but instead had chips to spare and made £15. I lost £2 getting the points in cash 3 days, sky got a few £ in rake and in return gave me £15 for FREE.
FREE - just for playing (or not as case may be) would have to hope in an all away table that don't split 3 times to make that
Did see you chatting in mtt's last night not very happy with a beat - don't take it out here, you played long enough mate - you know score
Every Year sky are giving more and more back, they are getting better and better at what they do, hence this site is growing vs others decline! Are they perfect? Nope but, but not is any business! Look at google - make a shed load of profit - all is well, search engines and maps seem spot on 99.9% of time but... Still make headline news once in a while for a mess up.
I did see your other thread about combating the "problem" (?), & I thought it was pretty interesting.
FWIW, in this particular case, players had to be pre-regged by the Business, due to the differing stack sizes - the software does not have a facility for players to register themselves in these circumstances.

I found this sub optimal... I soon realised because of different starting stack sizes it made sense to fold to the smaller stacks so you could extract all the chips before a new player enters the table
It felt so wrong yet so right.
Seriously though stop moaning sky run a great promotion and you moan because you are getting a stack you can min cash with too easy lol

I've just seen that "Must not Grumble but I will" Jac35 won a tenner in it.
Any more?
Good work Paul, thank you.
Plenty of Forum regulars there, great to see.
Same time, same place, next Saturday.

£500? Very nice.
