Irishrover was the exception to Sky Rules! he banned himself for five years .....( must be up by now )...... playing poker every night meant he was missing out on his kids growing up. Loved his games with them he posted on here, memory lane everyone should go down it every now and then. Think if my memory serves me Irishrose was his wife.?? could be wrong ! Cold Turkey must have been hard for him.!

Never had an issue with Sporny, and I'd personally be happy to see him back on the forums. From what I remember, the mods at the time decided that he'd had one moan too many and got the banhammer out. Some footballers get a ban for a tackle that breaks someone's leg and gets them a straight red card, others get banned for picking up loads of yellow cards over the course of the season, and Sporny definitely got plenty of yellow cards.
I get why Sky decided to ban him, and I can also see why people think he was hard done by - A lot of what he got into trouble for would've probably annoyed Sky far more than it would've bothered community members, given the targets of his rants were often things like the RNG and "bad" players making mistakes which would make the forum less welcoming to newbies, while community regs would feel empathy for the bad beat more than any other emotion, as most people got along with the guy. I understand the sympathy, but I understand why he's banned too.
I vaguely remember Bennydip from TV MTTs, but before I actually played on the site I think? The name is familiar but I never played him, from what I can recall. No idea where he went, or what happened to him.
I never personally had any issue with Mickjenn, but I know several people have mentioned table chat in reference to him, and not in a nice way. Think he still pops up at cash tables and in the odd MTT from time to time, but far less than he played back in 2009-2012 or so. I definitely remember a time when he was one of the players on the site that people aspired to be, around the same time that Gliterbabe was revered by a lot of people on the site as well. Now they're both as anonymous as Tom Dwan nowadays. How times change...
I think not ........ Sky won the war by banning them but lost the battle because the Forum needs Colourful Characters like them, they attract new players were interesting and had threads everyone read.
