Why is there such an obsession with this day by non-Irish people?

Not everyone can have Irish descendants surely?

I just don't get it.

Is it just a great marketing campaign by Guiness? (other dark stouts are available).

It's called "Communion Wine" very Holy. They don't serve it in Al's Bar.?
