there is no disagreement that to know unequivocally we need to look at all games and would wish the number of events to be hundreds or thousands. we also know that a good barometer of player ability when compared to others needs to look at many games but not too many. this task requires a good sized pool of players so that you can evaluate relative performance.
as i said, i see your point but it is a balance.
edit: i have just noticed your figures cpfc_2010. astonishing. i reckon that if i had your track record i would have made exactly the same point that you have made. look out for the new and additional 1,000 game threshold ROI% league later today. it will be a good thing for sure.

i have no idea to which league table you refer or why you should reject the data. each league shows the top players given certain criteria, if you don't like one particular league, it doesn't make it incorrect, it just means that hhyftrftdr doesn't like it.

This is just like P5 rankings though, lots of MTT rankings reward volume over profitability.
there are 25 different leagues. you can choose the one that best matches your own view of who's best.
the leagues are quantitative and qualitative and show results by volume, by returns, by profit, by points, by percentage performance etc., over differing periods too, by day, week, month, year, past year and past three years. there are also another 10 specialist leagues.
If comparisons are less important to you than you own individual performance you can see your own HERO Card. There are 50,000 of those.

i might try publishing two leagues on ROI% with two different thresholds; 100 games and 1,000 games. that way, we may evaluate player performance over three years at two different levels. stay tuned.

I never meant to draw attention to myself, there are at least two dozen regs in the MTT's I play who I would consider easily better than me, the likes of Mr Bates, S or G, Groggy, Bearlyther, Albania, ILuvPalace, Jordz, GSmith, Devil_tear,IanSimpson I could go on and on.
My figures are grossly inflated by a couple of UKOPS mains that I won last year for about £10k. Remove just these from my results and my ROI drops down to about 50%.

i can understand that. your figures are pretty impressive and it's funny that you have had a bit a ribbing over this league table. for situations like this, i think that you could take away those UKOPS results and see if you are no longer at the top, but then immediately after thinking that, i progress to thinking why take them away.

I top my local takeaway table for average ROI, and their threshold is way bigger than 50 takeaways.

Don't sell yourself short, your profit of £21k on your stake of £22k is very impressive! Also if you remove the biggest wins from all of these players it would also massively dent their ROI as well Nice one for topping the leaderboard

Don't sell yourself short, your profit of £21k on your stake of £22k is very impressive! Also if you remove the biggest wins from all of these players it would also massively dent their ROI as well
