I'm usually pro categories, and things going into them that belong there. The problem here is that Poker Chat would pretty much die without diaires, and at least most of them are related to poker. Happy Birthday Queen threads, though...

The only reason i ever venture onto the forums is to moan/read the diaries.

you missed a few options aussie:

i USED TO have a diary, keep diaries in poker chat. etc etc.

To be fair skys poker forum isnt exactly high traffic, you dont have to scroll through 10 pages of diaries before you get to the "poker chat".

But what is a diary if not chat about somebodys day to day poker?

Leave it in poker chat i say.

Maybe the question should be - Is everyday life stuff ok in a poker diary? I don't think I could follow a poker only diary with as much enthusiasm as reading everyday life stuff, it's difficult to engage and give positive feedback on poker only as it gives rise to disagreements and the new guys who would like to give their take on things may feel they are not qualified to enter a debate, hence lack of newbies engaging on the forum to a certain degree.
I put my blog on the rail purely because at the start it wasn't poker related, although it does have an element of brags or beats sometimes, all tongue in cheek of course,

I think the forum needs fewer categories rather than more.

Never had a problem with OP or most on the forum but this poll is pretty petty.

Without the diaries of the forum regs poker chat would be very quiet.

I think Toms diary should be moved from rail to here as more people would get to see it.

Maybe then some people would see what real life struggles are instead of moaning about silly small things in the grand scheme of things.

Think there are more important things in life in the grand scheme of things than winning the internet ;)

Thanks for the responses so far.  Interesting too.  Polls seem to be a popular sort of thread.  This issue is resolved imo.  Let's hope that this isn't a factor in the reduced number of contributions and that the forum survives.
