    The pay outs are generally :-
    1 - 5 players pays 1st only
    6 - 9 players pays 1st and 2nd
    10 - 29 players pays 1st to 3rd, this was probably your category, in defence of the structure, the prize money would be much depleted if they paid more places, and all MTT tourneys are top heavy in terms of payout, ie the winner gets a disproportionate percentage in terms of prize fund value. On most MTT if you only just make the money, your prize money isn't much more than the entry fee.
