Apologies, I played for 12.5 hours straight yesterday, and I was wrecked afterwards, & it continues today, with a 6 figure sum up top. So yeah, pretty big by my standards. ;)

I'll be trying to reply to the various comments this morning. (I'm 8 hours behind, though some might say 20 years behind).

First up, apologies to all, this was my fault really.

The info I posted in the OP was contained in an INTERNAL e-Mail, & not intended for publication. However, to pre-empt the usual plethora of questions, complaints, & "can you tell me the password?" type Posts, I thought I would mention it, to forestall problems. I did tell Sky Poker I would mention it, as it happens.

It would seem there was a change of plan, or a bit of a mess up, I know not which, (not that it matters now), & so I'm sorry if I inadvertently misled anyone.

Note that several people on the thread said they were not qualified but had been able to register, or that they were not qualified but had received a text with the password. In fact, I was not qualified, as I'm not a Member of the Sky Bet Club, and I received as text from Sky Poker with the password. I should have realised at that point that the rules had changed, & informed you accordingly, but it never "clicked" in my mind, as I was otherwise engaged. So there were plenty of clues in the thread that people COULD register if they wished.

I have sent a note Upstairs this morning, asking if there had been a change of plan, but the milk is spilt now, & so it makes no odds really, but if I get a reply, I will let you know what they say.

It is somewhat ironic that an MTT which probably offered huge overlay (these HTT's usually do, though I've no idea if this one did), causes such negativity & so many complaints, but I suppose that's how poker works. I'd bet good money that lots of "non-qualified" players helped themselves to the overlay & value, & I don't suppose those guys will be complaining.....

Anyway, it was my fault for using my initiative & trying to pre-empt the usual problems. That sure worked......

    Apologies to all.

696 players in the end. 129 paid (min cash £5). The full result is in Gary's Results thread.

Take all your points on board, but clarification on the rules regarding entry requirement would be nice as there is one more of these MTT's to go. (Thursday, 30th June)

Thanks Alan. Lots of Overlay, then.

I will certainly try & ensure I don't miscommunicate anything next time. Or just say nothing. ;)

One more? (HTT). I think there will be a lot more, but it's a work in progress, & the entry criteria, times, duration, & cost will continue to vary until they find the sweet spot.

The 3rd Euro 2016 £5k guaranteed HTT under the Sky Bet Club promotion is due this Thursday 30th June.

As there will be a £5 entry fee I suspect there will still be overlay.

It would be good to have clarification that this promotion really is "as advertised" i.e. exclusively for Sky Bet Club members?

Will all qualifying entrants, and only qualifying entrants (i.e existing sky bet customers who opted in to to Sky Bet Club and made the necessary bets up to 26th June) be sent the password?

Is there any way of blocking entry for non sky bet club members who manage to get the password (e.g. from friends, a misplaced text. or CC).

An even better option (as suggested by others) would be if possible to ditch the password and have a check at point of registration as is done for points based qualifications.

Will winnings be redistrbuted if non sky bet club members get the password and enter and cash?

Believe me I really do have greater things to worry about - I would just like to see sky get this one right. You have had 2 opportunities to learn from past problems and so I trust that changes - or at least clarification - can be made before the third one.

Hey Phantom, just to make you aware.....they have moved the goal posts again. This MTT originally scheduled for 30th June has been postponed to 1st July.

....I think they are also making it a rebuy BH and all Priority customers are guaranteed to cash in the top 50.*

    *may not be true.

I too increased my Sky Bet stakes in the last few weeks to gain entry into these 'restricted' games. I think as it is now a £5 entry fee, we as paying customers, are not being too unreasonable with a request for clarification. Good luck in it....and we will chop it H/U! ;)

    Morning chaps.

I will try and seek clarification on this, and get back to you before it takes place. *

    * Memory permitting.

Just had a text with password. Correct me if wrong but suspect it was sent to all sky poker players who are on SMS list?

Unimpressed by lack of response from sky here. Not aimed at Tikay who is on a different continent and crushing 4 card tourneys.

How can you justify advertising an exclusive promotion then making it totally non exclusive?

    Yo Mr POTO,

No, it was not sent to all Sky Poker players on the (contactable) SMS list. I know that, as I never got the text. Sometimes they use various different criteria, & it's never "everyone or no one" these days, they can be far more selective as to who texts are sent to.

I take your point though - the lobby states "Sky Bet Club Members Only", so I've sent a note upstairs asking what the score is. If I hear back, I'll let you know.

I had a reply back, Mr POTO.

As I understand it, that SMS was ONLY sent to Sky Bet Club Members, which, if correct, confirms it is exclusive to Sky Bet Clubbers.

Are you not a Sky Bet Club Member?

Thanks, for the reply and yes I am.

Last week the issue seemed to be that non-Sky Bet members got the text and entered which had me and others a touch miffed.

It's a good promo, encourages cross-site play which must be good for the site (it worked on me - I have never been a skybet member until this promo) and the tourneys themselves have offered great value, especially the FR but the £2 had overlay and looks like the £5 will too.

Same here, HOWEVER, passwords needed for SKYBET-poker promos are contained within the e-mails you receive on Mondays from Skybet.

    Hi Jordz,

Please contact customer care if you haven't received the SMS, sometimes our communications have a control group on, so this maybe the reason you haven't received the password.

Our CC have been briefed on this, so they'll be more than happy to help.

    Thanks,

Rebekah: That is the number we have on our system, not sure as to why you haven't received it. We have had a few customers asking the same so it does appear that we have had a problem with our text system

    that is that sorted then.

    Hi Tikay,

Hope you're well, I'm posting here as I've just seen this thread and you have already replied and have had contact from management.

I only found out about this tournament because I received an sms for the HTT on 21st June, which I entered and played.

I then checked the promo page and they showed that this was for betting more than £25 the previous week, which I had, so I thought I would bet and qualify for it again today.

However I did not receive one for today and when I went to customer chat, they said I was not part of Sky Bet club so had to bet £40 between 13 - 19th June at evens or above to qualify and that I had only staked £38, so did not.

I obviously was completely unaware of this because I had received the SMS password and then checked the promo page (which only mentions the £25 and that only qualifying customers would be contacted) so took it in good faith that I must be a Sky Bet member for this to have happened.

Customer care were not willing to accept or take this into consideration and said I had not qualified as per the rules.

I've now double checked my account and can see I staked over £50 at evens or above between 13 - 19th June so should have qualified anyway!

I have asked for a manager to contact me about this, which cc said they would do within 24hrs so I will see what they say, but not happy with how this has been dealt with so far at all.

I'm sorry if any of this sounds like a rant, it's not meant to be, but felt like posting my experience after seeing this thread.
