Ukops main advice please

I freerolled into the £40,000 main which is usually out of my BR.
I had scoped the villain and he had played abot 50 tourneys £22 upwards not very successfully.
He played a lot of hands, often limping with any 2 suited or connected cards.
This hand, he minraised from button.

I got scared of the flush and straight when the river fell.
Maybe larger bets before would have helped.
A wrong move and I am virtually out.

Was I right to call, fold or should I have shoved the river.
Regardless of the end result, what were my chances?

Thanks for any input.
I will show the result later.

edit- you can't see but I had him covered by about 100 chips.

Not the best person for giving advice but imo you done the right thing too many outs for the villian I think you are better to walk away with what's left of your stack than being stubborn and going bust

Cant really say as I dont know what the composition of the field was ie how many left, what the payouts were etc.

Playing it without knowing anything about the other player Its a perfect flop for my reraise pre and as such Im probably going all in right there and giving him the decision. Once you allow a turn card to fall you open yourself up to being pushed off by a bet repping a str8 or a flush.

For me the play is at best 50 /50 once the turn and river are seen and Im erring on the side of caution and when the villain shoves you have little option.

Still Im hardly qualified to give advice its just good to discuss.

Shoving the flop would be bad, just gonna get folds which is exactly what we don't want when we've flopped the nuts.

Think I call off the river and be quite happy about it. Not particularly concerned by the 1 card straight as there can't/shouldn't be too many 6s in their range by the river. Yeah we'll walk into a flush sometimes but this player sounds like someone who could overvalue hands and maybe go apesh1t with a slow played AA/KK. Spots like this can be so villain dependent and the table flow could determine if its a call or fold, but I certainly lean towards the former.

Could bet a little more on flop and turn :)

I agree about betting more on the flop now.

I can't remember him shoving light previously but he could just have been taking advantage of my weak check.

I did think AA/KK was a distinct possibility but my reading skills aren't good enough to bet my tourny on it here.

As it was, I sigh folded.

He bust a bit later and I went on to mincash after butchering a hand on the bubble, scared of walking away with nothing.

£150 from nothing for a low stakes player can make you do that.

    Thanks for the input.

i like the way you played the hand even the check on the river, only thing you did wrong is not call his push i think your ahead 95% of the time  i dont buy he had a big pair think he would have reraised you pre flop bet, esp from what you say about him and i dont put him on a flush draw on the flop as i feel he would reraise your bet on the flop to protect and build a pot, he might have had a big ace ak aq with ace of diamonds  and even more likly an under set makes more sense the way he bet and called, think the only hand your losing to is a6 66  and thats very unlikly, you shouldnt be scared to lose all your chips in that poistion if you want to win comps.gl anyway in the future   In Response to Ukops main advice please:
