Thanks for all the birthday messages.

I had a great time at Cheltenham, albeit a bitter sweet experience.

Observing one of the greatest races there has ever been as Many Clouds beat the mighty Thistlecrack by a neck.

Fighting back up the run in, only to die of a suspected heart attack, right in front of us, just after the winning post.

A cruel reminder of just how brutal this sport can be for horse and jockey.

Many Clouds will be remembered as the hero of the 2015 Grand National off top weight. The best weight carrying performance since Red Rum. 

However the achievement of lowering, the seemingly unbeatable, Thistlecrack's colours, possibly his greatest ever achievement.

I will remember him as the equine hero that he was, but also with respect for the ultimate price that he paid, in this thrilling, but brutal sport.

Financially I did OK with 4 winners and two seconds (Although if Thistlecrack and Cantlow (2nd to a 50/1 shot) managed to win, the wheelbarrow may have been required, as they were in several of my multiple bets, along with the four winners)
