Whats the deepest stack you've ever played with Neil? Any tips for playing 200bb+?
My landlord was telling me that the local casino used to run a £1/£1 game with a minimum £75 buyin and a £1000 max!

It's a very good question Jim. Sorry if I didn't answer it sooner but generally I like the questions to sit unanswered in the hope others ill join in with their ideas and not be intimidated into just agreeing with me.
Back in around 2002 hold-'em started to be played as a cash game in the Victoria Casino in London. People really generally thought it was a boring game that was only fun in tournaments throughout the 90s and the cash games might only get started if it was a "festival" (a week of tournaments) maybe four times a year. After Late Night Poker came on TV there was a demand to play the game at smallish stakes more often and in the Vic the £3/£3 POT-LIMIT game was born.
I used to try and raise every pot if I had position as people tended to play a fit or fold style and I could always try to steal a pot from them on later streets. As it was pot limit I needed to therefore get enough money in there so that my turn bet would be big and I could get the others to fold. I must have made it £7 or £11 to play every unopened pot in the high-jack or later for about two years. I just liked those numbers and I didn't want to lose more than necessary if I ran into a nit with a hand. I would call any reraise if I had position and try to play the streets.
For my strategy to work I needed to know that my 93 off would get paid when it came 33 or 99 and so I needed to sit deep AND to try and get the others to play deep too. I usually sat with about £2000 so 600bbs!!! People often asked me why on earth I did that and I always said the same thing if I felt like answering...one reason was that I wanted to encourage people generally to sit with more money, secondly I wanted always to cover everyone to intimidate them and let them know their stack could go at any time and thirdly I didn't want people to ever see me adding to my stack...if someone sat down with more money who was a really bad player and I immediately added they would all know I thought they were a bad player and I never wanted to give out that kind of information. I also never wanted people to know if I was winning or losing if they just arrived as they may play differently so I always had a lot in front of me whatever.
