Looking at the market moves in the first race, I would prefer to have Flying Angel as my 2nd choice as opposed to Cloudy Dream. This is the difficulty in as much as trying to get the bets on in a timely manner, but waiting for the latest info. Lets hope TOP NOTCH wins anyway Posted by StayOrGo
There was some late money for Flying Angel and if I had waited longer I would definately had him in the perm, but the trouble is, you run the opportunity of not getting the bet on in time.
Top Notch was dissappointing, probably a bounce back from Cheltenham.
Again this is an advocate for having a syndicate, as Flying Angel would be in a wider perm for sure.
Bit dissapointing, but at least it was only my money (and Max's by the looks of it), that was lost.

UL mate. Yeah....no sweat for me today either. Now off to put my golf bets on, lol.
Flying Angel came in from 7/1 to 5/1 at the last minute, which is exactly the type of runner we want, as it is likely to be under-represented in the Jackpot Pool. Conversly, Cloudy Dream drifted from 5/2 to 4/1 just before the off.
The trouble is, it was just in the last few minutes before the race and trying to put several big perms on doesn't allow you much time.
It's a shame as it was an opportunity that got away for sure.

BTW, you can see from the post time, that I did post this before the off, so not a results orientated statement.
No winners of the Jackpot, roll over of £17,664 to Aintree tomorrow.
Regarding our strategy for the syndicate, we will nearly always wait until the roll over is greater than £40K, although sometimes when less, if the card doesn't look too competitive.
Interesting that the two main "bankers" went in, namely, DEFI DU SEUIL and BUVEUR D'AIR and yet the Jackpot was still not won by anyone, which gives strength to the theory of having at least one banker and a wider perm elsewhere.
For example if we had DEFI DU SEUIL and BUVEUR D'AIR as bankers the remaining four legs we could have one race with 4 selections, one with 5, and two with 6 selections, for a £360 outlay.
I'm not saying we would have won it, but we certainly would have given ourselves a chance.

I think I have to be honest and say we would have probably bust the jackpot, even as a syndicate today.
But hey, we haven't started for real yet. :=)
