Please note, I will very much be incorporating peoples suggestions in the open race legs where we have lots of selections. So it will indeed be a joint effort between me and those wishing to participate in selection choice.

I feel, the best thing I bring to the table in this venture, is my statistical knowledge and understanding of how to optimally cover a large spread of the betting market in each leg, not horse form analysis.

So I am more than happy to be assisted in the actual selection of the horses. Hope this makes sense. Also, I really do want people to feel included, and I will try very hard to incorporate everyone's selections, as long as the base strategy remains intact. "

    Please can you set up a standing order for the 24TH OF EACH MONTH starting on 24TH APRIL 2017: (This will give me a few days to confirm payments have been received and to allow for weekends and the short month of February.     SO WHAT ARE THE RULES?

    I will add to this/modify it over time if need be, but here's a starter for ten:

    1) RECEIPT OF PAYMENTS WILL BE CONFIRMED BEFORE THE START OF THE MONTH.
    2) WE WILL ONLY DO THE JACKPOT WHEN THE CONDITIONS ARE RIGHT. I WILL DETERMINE THIS. (SORRY TO BE A DICTATOR)
    3) I WILL BE CAREFUL NOT TO MAKE ANY ERRORS WHEN PLACING THE BET, HOWEVER WHATEVER BET IS STRUCK IS THE SYNDICATE BET AND WHILST I WILL TRY TO BE DILIGENT, I CANNOT BE LIABLE FOR MISTAKES.
    4) ONCE THE BET IS PLACED I WILL POST A COPY OF THE BET RECEIPT ON THE THREAD. IF THE FORUM IS UNAVAILABLE I WILL EMAIL IT.
    5) PLEASE NOTE, THAT DUE TO THE NATURE OF WAITING UNTIL WE HAVE ALL THE LATEST MARKET MOVER INFORMATION AND NON RUNNERS THE BET WILL ONLY BE FINALISED AND PLACED JUST BEFORE THE OFF TIME OF THE FIRST RACE.
    6) IF SOMETHING WENT WRONG AND THE BET COULDN'T BE PLACED I WOULD NOTIFY THE THREAD ASAP
    7) I WILL TRY TO MAKE SURE THAT A COPY OF THE BET RECEIPT IS POSTED BEFORE THE OFF OF THE FIRST RACE. BUT, AS I ALLUDED TO EARLIER IT WILL BE VERY CLOSE TO THE OFF TIME.
    8) IF PAYMENTS HAVEN'T BEEN RECEIVED PRIOR TO THE START OF EACH MONTH, THEN THAT PERSON WILL BE DEEMED TO NOT BE IN THE SYNDICATE.
    9) SYNDICATE MEMBERS CAN LEAVE AND STOP THEIR STANDING ORDER AT ANY TIME (PLEASE NOTIFY ME) THEY WILL BE ENTITLED TO THIER SHARE OF THE KITTY BACK. IN THE EVENT OF A CASH, I WILL DECLARE AN APPROPRIATE DIVIDEND AND PUT THE FUNDS INTO THE RELEVANT PARTIES BANK ACCOUNT. WILL NEED BANK ACCOUNT NUMBERS IN THIS OCCURANCE. PLEASE ALLOW A FEW DAYS FOR PAYMENTS TO BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE BOOKMAKER ACCOUNT. I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LISTING THE KITTY BALANCE AND VALUE PER SHARE IN A TIMELY MANNER.
    10) I WILL ULTIMATELY DECIDE THE SELECTIONS (SORRY DICTATOR AGAIN) HOWEVER I WILL WELCOME AND TAKE ONBOARD PEOPLE'S THOUGHTS AND SUGGESTIONS PROVIDED THEY FIT IN WITH THE OVER ALL STRATEGY.

    THE SELECTION PROCESS AND ETHOS: (GETTING IN THE RIGHT SPIRIT)

    11) REGARDING PEOPLES SELECTIONS, PLEASE POST THEM AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE THE FIRST RACE DETAILING THE TIME, CLOTH NUMBER, HORSE NAME AND ODDS, IDEALLY IN CAPITALS FOR CLARITY. I CAN NOT CONSIDER HORSES POSTED TOO LATE.
    12) I MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY TO AVOID OUTSIDERS, AND I DO STILL THINK WE SHOULD AVOID THESE. HOWEVER DO POST AN OUTSIDER IF YOU FEEL REALLY STRONGLY ABOUT IT, AND IT WILL BE CONSIDERED. I MAY STILL REMOVE IT, BUT I WILL SHORT LIST IT.
    13) IF THERE ARE TWO OR MORE POSSIBLE "BANKERS", I MAY ASK FOR THOUGHTS ON WHICH ONE WE SHOULD GO FOR.
    14) DURING THIS PROCESS WE WILL, FOR SURE, ENDURE DISSAPOINTMENT. FROM NEAR MISSES, THE BANKER LETTING US DOWN, BUSTING THE FIRST LEG, HAVING SIX HORSES IN THE LEG, BUT STILL NOT GETTING THE WINNER. I ASK PEOPLE TO BE PATIENT AND NOT "RESULTS" ORIENTATED.
    15) CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISCM IS WELCOME, BUT LETS GIVE THE PROCESS A GOOD CHANCE BEFORE BECOMING TOO OPINIONATED.
    16) I AM HAPPY FOR PEOPLE TO SAY "I TOLD YOU SO" IF THEY HAVE MADE A SELECTION THAT I REMOVED, AND IT WINS, BUT UNLESS YOU MENTION IT BEFOREHAND, COMMENTS LIKE "WE SHOULD OF HAD THAT ONE IN" ARE COUNTER PRODUCTIVE.
    17) PEOPLE ARE WORKING VERY HARD ON THIS (NOT JUST ME) AND INEVITABLY DECISONS WILL NEED TO BE MADE, THAT WILL MAKE OR BREAK US. IF I TRY TO PLEASE EVERYONE THE PERM WOULD BE TOO BIG.
    18) IF ANYONE WISHES TO "CASH IN" AND LEAVE THE SYNDICATE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND YOU WILL BE REIMBURSED AT WHATEVER THE "SHARE VALUE" IS (IE KITTY/TOTAL NUMBER OF SHARES*YOUR NUMBER OF SHARES)
    19) PLAYERS WILL BE DEEMED TO HAVE LEFT THE SYNDICATE IF PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED BY THE 28TH OF THE MONTH PRIOR. (MICKYBLUE HAS UNTIL 30TH AS HE REQUESTED A FEW DAYS DELAY TO FIT IN WITH HIS PAY DAY SCHEDULE)
    20) QUITE OFTEN IN FLAT MEETINGS THEY START THINGS OFF WITH A "MAIDEN". THIS OFTEN HAS SEVERAL FIRST TIME OUT RUNNERS, AND WATCHING BETTING MOVES RIGHT UP TO THE LAST MINUTE IS KEY. THIS MAY RESULT IN THE SELECTIONS ONLY BEING FINALISED JUST BEFORE THE OFF. IN THIS CASE I WILL FIRSTLY JUST POST THE BET RECEIPT, SO YOU CAN SEE WE ARE ON. THE FINAL SPREADSHEET OF THE PERM WITH THEN FOLLOW SHORTLY AFTER. I APPRECIATE THIS MAY BE FRUSTRATING, BUT WE REALLY NEED THAT LAST MINUTE INFO IN THESE SCENARIOS.
    21) LETS ALL HAVE SOME FUN WITH THIS. CONTRIBUTE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN/WOULD LIKE TO, I WILL ALWAYS LISTEN TO CONSTRUCTIVE THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS, IF SOMEONE THINKS WE ARE "MISSING A TRICK" SOMEWHERE.

    I will be very strict on deadlines for monies received, so do make sure your standing order is set up promptly. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to check the opening post from 25th onwards to confirm that I have acknowledged receipt of your payment. If monies are not received by the deadline, you will have zero shares for the month.

    OK IT'S A GO-ER! Well, careful what you wish for they say. I have received several PM's and interest in the Jackpot Syndicate. So I best follow through on this hairbrained idea now. :=) So I am setting this up as the official thread. I have decided, to allow time for other people to join, and for me to organise how I am actually going to do this, that we will not start until May . (It also gives us time for a couple more trial runs! :=)) If you are not listed below and would like to join, please post on here stating the number of shares you require. We will do the Jackpot on the first day in May when there is a decent roll over, and the dynamic of the six races meets our criteria. (This could be on 1st May or not until a few weeks later), so we may need to be patient, and wait for the right opportunity. This thread will be for the logistics, the strategy has already been well detailed in the initial thread, so please read through that for further understanding.     Many thanks to all who have notified me of setting up their standing orders so far. Please check the opening post reflects your position accurately.

    I have said the 24th, however I do realise that it may not be a great date, pay-day wise, for some people.

    If it is a problem for anyone, send me a PM and we can discuss you doing it more to the end of the Month, but for reasons stated previously, the 24th is the preferred date. I just wouldn't want people to incur bank charges as their salary hadn't gone in beforehand.

    Hi, please can any new members who haven't PM'd me their email address please do so (Donald I have yours already), and also a reminder for people to set up their standing orders and please notify me when they have done so.

    I am very busy the last two weeks of April, so I am hoping they will all be set up no later than 15th April, so I don't need to chase people too close to the standing order date of 24th.

    Very happy to say that rspca12 has decided to have 25 shares at a total cost of £125 per month and that IrishRose has joined us  for 10 shares (£50 per month)

    As it stands currently, we'd be able to have at least two good goes a month at just under £300 a pop, however, I am hoping even more will sign up in the coming days.
