Vegas Giveaway - Thank you Sky and where to find more info?

Hi

I was fortunate enough to be the winner of this weeks 4k Vegas Giveaway so, firstly, a huge thank you to those lovely people at Sky Poker! I've only been playing on the site since the start of this month so as a golden hello it doesn't get much better really. I'm happier than a cat with an extra large bowl of cream!

I'm sure the people from Sky will be in touch in due course but, in the meantime, I'm struggling to find any info on what the £4k Vegas package consists of - I've had a good look round the website but can't seem to find any details. I guess my first two questions are what event will I be playing in and what are the dates? If anyone can give me a link or some info about the package I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks again and I hope you all run hotter than the sun :-)

Nice one Mr (or Miss) Dues,

Sky Poker do Viva Las Vegas every year, it generally works very well, & everyone seems to enjoy themselves each year.

You'll be staying at Palazzo, which is an 5 Star hotel smack in the middle of the Strip, & you'll be playing a WSOP MTT over at The Rio.

    Any further questions, fire away.

A little nearer the date, I usually write a "don't forget this that and the other" Blog and Sky Poker put up a Las Vegas FAQ thing.

You ever been to Vegas before? If not, here's tip # 1 - it is hot - VERY hot (40C+ all day every day & no cooler at night) , but you'll need a nice warm jumper &/or hoodie, as it gets jolly cold in the cardrooms.

    Here's a 5 part guide to Las Vegas which may help, though please note some of these refer to the 2016 Promo & so are out of date, but they'll give you some flavour for now;

    Part ONE

    Part TWO

    Part THREE

    Part FOUR

    Part FIVE

Also, if you are a fan of concrete, trains or bridges, we can organise some appropriate Day Trips.

Thanks Tikay - I'm a Mr by the way.

I had a look at the details of the package and it looks awesome. It appears I can bring a guest so will have Mrs Duesenberg coming along with me - it's just before our ten year anniversary so will make for a really nice way to celebrate. Do our guests also get to join us on the perks (bus tour, welcome dinner, golf experience etc.) or is that strictly for the qualifying players only?

    Thanks again for the info.

    Hi Mr Due,

Your Guest - Mrs Due in this case - are 100% welcome to join everyone else on the various group experiences, (welcome drinks, bus tour, dinner, golf etc).

Does Mrs Due like concrete structures, bridges or trains?

Funnily enough, Mrs D has a real penchant for brutalist concrete structures. This will be my/our second time in Vegas (first went in 2008) so we have already taken in some of the 'must do' sights - Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam etc, but may well look to revisit some of those as well as something new.

Personally, I'm hoping to bink the tourney and then head over to Bobbys Room to give Ivey a spanking at the cash tables ;-)

Mrs D sounds like a woman of fine tastes.

Since you were last there in 2008, the "City Centre" has opened, which includes Aria, Vdara, Cosmopolitan etc.

McCarron Airport has changed too - the new International Terminal is a beaut.

Huge congrats on your lucky ticket win.  I'm sure you and your wife will have a great time with the Sky boys and girls - they put on a really good week and you won't be short of drinking buddies by the pool........

I'd advise you to swap a few telephone numbers/whatsapp details with a few Sky players when in Vegas so you'lll always have someone to find out the latest plans etc when you're there.

Have a great time - and run golden!

Congratulations! I have won a package also. I have been sitting on the email for day or two thinking it was a scam, and tonight I contacted support via chat who said it wasn't a scam... well I'm gobsmacked. It's apt that you are a new Sky player and I am an old one. I used to play here night and day and well then my life changed through a few things and it's fair to say that it's only settled down in the last couple of years after a long term illness, three house moves and a lovely partner that I've been able to play poker again at the lower stakes. I did say to Tikay many moons ago I was determined to win a Sky package because they really are the best, but I always thought it would be because I beat 500+ Sky regs to do it! So I'm chuffed. Right now I'm fist pumping and the happiest woman in the world.

    See you soon!

Congratulations Duesenberg and Supernova, couldn't be happier for both of you. I've also had a little touch from the weekly giveaways, £5, £5 and £25 each draw so far which isn't bad for nothing. Hope you both have the time of your lives. I've also managed to luckbox my way to the Vegas final on Sunday so I'm gonna get Tikay to turn on the boom switch and make sure I get a package (that should start off the "poker is rigged gang" nicely)

Anyway another reason for my post is to let the guys and girls upstairs know that they do get some things right, yet again this year the Vegas promotion has been fantastic, maybe a few bumps along the way and a few things we could get better for next year, however in general there has been abit of everything for everyone, from what I can see no part of the Sky community has not had a chance to qualify. That to me is fantastic and is the way it should be.

Well done all and hopefully we will see similar next year. I'll start a new thankyou thread on Snday night when Tikay has sorted that package for me ;-) .

Just so you know, Tikay doesn't have access to the boomswitch. Only me and Sam do.

To avoid 5 Sky Poker is rigged threads starting, there is no such thing as a boomswitch.
