Okay this is hand from a £33 buy in bounty hunter. I thought it was an intersting hand and was wondering if anyone had any advice on my post flop play. It is relatively early in the tournament and it is my third hand so I dont have a read on my opponent. I am unsure if i should have continuation bet the flop and if I should have folded the river raise. What do you guys think?

Hi Summer. 

I struggle to win at tournies, so I'm only commenting to help myself improve.

Preflop.

Kh Jh utg is too loose utg. (Even though I'm sure I open that here )

Flop.

Fire that Cbet, ATx hits your utg range, represent that, you could get pairs to fold, aggression.

Turn.

Less than 50% PSB looks weak, you could have started with AK and we're hoping to check raise, but , you don't have reads. So , I think the lost momentum on the missed Cbet does you no favours.

River

Your sizing on the river tells me you might have sizing tells.

I can't honestly say whether I would fold or call the river bet, because you show the result and that affects my opinion.

Seems fine to be opening pre. Default would be a bit smaller pre.

I would mix up between c betting and checking flop. We have backdoor draws and the flop should hit our range more than our opponents so probably betting more often than checking.

If we check flop then I like betting turn as we may win it there but also can improve on the river.

On the river when we are raised its not a fistpump moment however our opponent is repping pretty thin so I probably sigh call it off too. Having said that, against some opponents we can just snap fold.

KJs is an open UTG even in a cash game that is relatively highly raked, so in a MTT (where there's no rake) it's a fistpump open. 

Our UTG range should be pretty dense with Ax combos (probably 20-25% of range), meaning the ATx flop is pretty strong for our range. This, in addition to our opponents' ranges being much less dense with Ax and probably more dense with 55-99 combos and other random hands, gives our range a pretty strong EV advantage OTF, hence making our hand a pretty good cbet most of the time, probably 100%

Opening a bit smaller preflop.

I agree it is an open. If we were UTG 9 handed then it is more marginal but 6 handed UTG this is generally fine to open.

As mentioned the board hits our percieved range so I would be c-betting here the vast majority of the time, especially as we have the gutterball and the backdoor flush. I think this gives us more info too when we see how our opponents react.

If played like this then I think we have a different dynamic on the turn so it is hard to say what I would do. If the opponent we are OOP to had folded then we could re-evaluate after seeing the action on the turn taken by the other player as to the best line to take as we would have position. If the opponent we are OOP to calls and the other player folds I may mix my play up with check/calls (given the correct odds) and check/raises after considering reads.

As played on the river I would be calling the vast majority of the time. I wouldn't love it but would be expecting to be winning most of the time, certainly enough to make the call profitable. Opponent should have plenty hands in their range that we are beating.
