this looks tougher than todays card im struggling to fancy anything in the last. i would really like a banker here to allow more selections in the few open races. but i like the look of mirage dancer. cliffs of mohar won well but was in ireland which is not my strong point at all. anybody know anything about race? (in syndicate or not?).

evergate withdrew from todays last for the 3pm and a ok draw so connections there must fancy there chance. that with roseabelle will be a good race.

15 35 i can see a bigger priced horse winning.

we really need lots of voices on this 1 im thinking.

I've been having a look at the Friday Chester card, and I agree with MICKYB and VAIGRET that it is a lot more difficult than Thursday's card. I'm definitely struggling to see a banker with confidence.
CLIFFS OF MOHER is this year's hyped Superstar Ballydoyle Derby horse according to my Dad, who told me to watch out for it a month ago. I follow all Aidan O'Brien's horses, but I always like to see them run first in their 3-y-o career. His horses are in fantastic form, and it may well win, it's obviously got more speed than VENICE BEACH & Co. from Thursday, due to it being his only entry in the 2.25 race today, so it must be pretty good, but I think Michael Stoute's MIRAGE DANCER must be another horse with a huge amount of potential too, 'coz he often targets this race with his best 3-y-o, and I certainly wouldn't leave it out of any perm.
    Obviously I'm not in the syndicate, but I would be taking a cautious view and sitting on my 'STACK' and waiting for a better spot.... (:D}

Tough to make the case for a single banker strategy.

I would be interested to see what plan B looks like but there are some pretty open races over the longer distances.

edit:Cliffs of Moher has been backed well into odds on territory so statistically you have your banker. Not as easy to oppose as Dahik was yesterday but there are 2 other genuine contenders in Bay of Poets and Mirage Dancer.

I wont be around later so GL if you are going for it.

    Final thoughts...

Weather could have a say, rain is expected the forecast said "light showers" but the weather radar suggests could be more.

(Zoom in and "play" to see if anything is landing on Chester)

Definitely worth keeping an eye on - Cant see it change to soft but could take the sting out of it.

On the hard to pick 435, I have napped Judicial but I do see alot of danger.

Duke of Firenze as already mentioned, Canny Kool who has course form and the draw to suit it with a strong front run.

Reflektor was withdrawn yesterday and runs today and maybe those showers will help.

Just spotted this article on SL. Seems Chester May festival day 3 is not traditionally a great day for favourites...

I am looking at a two or three perm strategy, I will post a potential idea here (give me an hour) and you guys can decide if you think we should attempt it.

    Hi guys.

Getting a bit short of time, but if you could please give the three perm option on the opening post your approval or not by 12.30pm.

I will then use NAP's selections and removal data to work out the A,B,C,D,E's if it is a GO.

    Cheers,

    G

    OK, shall we pass?

It will take me an hour or so to do the A,B,C,D and E's so need to know fairly soon.

I am happy to give this one a miss if you feel it's likely to not be won.

We will always have other opportunities down the line, so don't need to rush into it.

    We can be patient. ;=)

I will go with the consensus.

    Cheers,

    G

    Hi  Graham,
I am happy to go with this  -  with my 2 shares it will only cost me £3.52  perhaps those with more shares would have different views! You might not get a lot of responses  as people are at work etc. but as you have already put some effort in to this it would be a pity not to. If you others say no you should certailnly take their views on board though in the end it is your decision.

Do you have an alternative suggestion without doubling the price? What do we remove from it?

P.S. Added set in stone in that perm for leg 5.

I will work on the A-E's and we'll make final decision at 1.30pm

To have two selection instead of one in leg 6, and three selection instead of four in Leg 3 still increases price by 50%, so you need to take another one out somewhere
