Gary and I have just joined a golf club.
As usual Gary thrashed me in our first formal match, despite giving me a shot a hole.
To keep us motivated I said I would post the Score Cards below.
It won't take you long to figure out who the golfer is in the family.
And who clearly isn't :=)
Tough conditions, high winds. (That's my excuse)

FRONT NINE:
BACK NINE:
15/05/17: GARY NET 74 (35 PUTTS) GRAHAM NET 85 (37 PUTTS) - GARY WON MP 5&4
Usually I struggle on the par 5's too, especially as Gary burns them up!
He's rarely over par on them.
109 to beat next time, and less RED on the board!
Glad I got it eventually, it would have been pretty poor not to get ANY pars. :=)
We are struggling to find the time to play 18 holes, so we are doing it in two halves.
Playing the front 9 one day and then continuing on another.
Yesterday we played the front nine of match two (in the pouring rain)
Scores so far below: (I played my usual poor game, and Gary struggled by his standards, especially on the greens)
MATCH TWO (PART 1) PLAYED ON THURSDAY 18TH MAY 2017
FRONT NINE:
18/05/17: (FRONT 9 ONLY)
GARY NET 41(19 PUTTS) - GRAHAM NET 39 (16 PUTTS) -
GRAHAM LEADS MATCH TWO BY 3UP THRU 9
Continuation probably on Tues 23/05/17
1) Will Gary fight back and win match two?
2) Can Graham break 100?
Answers on a post card. :=)
This was definitely the latter for us both.
Gary and I both had a nightmare, however I managed to maintain my 9 hole match play lead and WON 4&2. SO IT'S 1 ALL! (Getting a shot a hole remember)
Back Nine Played on 22/05/2017: Scores below:
22/05/17: (BACK 9 CONTINUATION)
OVERALL SCORE OF MATCH TWO:
GARY NET 84 (37 PUTTS) - GRAHAM NET 87 (36 PUTTS)
Will be playing 18 holes on Wednesday for match THREE!
FRONT NINE:
In our case it was the 15th.
With Gary three up at the time, it was a crucial hole, and we both pulled our T-Shots into the left green side bunker.
It was me to play first and I didn't have a lot of green to work with, but managed to get it out to about 16 foot from the pin.
GARY THEN HOLES HIS BUNKER SHOT!
Yep that's right a good 20 yard bunker shot , that, pitched a few inches to the left of the pin and then spun right into the hole, for a birdie two!
So I have to make my 16 footer for a half (getting a shot a hole).
I managed to knock it in and take the match to the 16th where Gary got the half he needed.
Great fun, scores not so good, but some magical moments.
Number one son now leads 2-1!
Cheers,
G
I managed to grind out a match play win 2 UP.
Good job it wasn't stroke play as I had a 14 with three lost balls on one hole!
Mainly due to not looking very hard in the conditions.
Tale of woe below:
MATCH FOUR PLAYED ON MONDAY 5TH MAY 2017
FRONT NINE:
05/06/17: GARY NET 85 (35 PUTTS) GRAHAM NET 91 (38
PUTTS) - GRAHAM WON 2UP
The scores aren't great tbh.
I have always been a bad player, but it's a shame to see Gary struggling so much. He used to shoot in the 70's nearly every round he played, but can't seem to reach that form atm. (He hasn't been playing much tbh and it's hard for a low handicapper if he doesn't play regularly)
Anyhow, here is the score card we owe you. We are just waiting for daybreak and then we are going out for 9 holes. It has been very wet, so I'm sure conditions will be tough.
