Bang out of order this, but the weather here this morning is pretty bad, so much so that all the Hotel Swimming Pools have been closed, & the National Weather Service just issued this;
High Wind Warning in Nevada
...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO
3 AM PDT MONDAY...
* TIMING...Winds will increase late this morning and peak in
intensity during the afternoon and evening hours. Winds will
start to subside early Monday morning.
* WINDS...Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts 45 to 55 mph. Gusts
in excess of 60 mph possible in the higher terrain and across
far western Las Vegas Valley in communities adjacent to Blue
Diamond Ridge and the Spring Mountains.
* IMPACTS...A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind
event is expected. Strong winds can make driving dangerous...
rapidly reduce visibility in dust prone areas and lead to
property damage.

Abso ridic that, they have no right to give us bad weather in Vegas.
Really pleased to see two good friends of mine, Adam Owen & Joe Beevers, cash in 13th & 14th in the WSOP $565 PLO.
Adam is just a kid really, but he'll never have to do a days work in his life, he is an absolute natural at the poker table.
Joe, of course, you all know of, & he was one of the inspirations for many of us to start playing poker around 20 years ago.
He was one of the regulars on Late Night Poker, of course.
As the founding member of The Hendon Mob, along with Barny, Ross & Ram, they got a huge sponsorship dal with PRIMA, & effectively went off on a world tour. Then they went with Full Tilt, & of course that all went a bit tiddly-poo
They had the Hendon Mob Forum, too, which is, sadly, now dead as a dodo. They sold it some years ago, along with the Hendon Mob Database, to the GPI people, & netted a good few bob in the process.
I saw Joe over the weekend, & he told me had had just met Natterley Bromley, & he was full of praise for what a lovely person Natterley is. Not wrong.
As you may know, these days Joe Beevers is in partnership with Mr Ambo in a Sports Betting tipping site, Betting Emporium. Very good site it is, too, though you need to bet pretty big to justify the subscription.
They have got the lot in the French Tennis, well done them.
Talking of Late Night Poker, I saw another Late Night Poker veteran the day before yesterday - Jac Arama. (Not to be confused with Jac35 -A-Drama). Last time I saw Jac was at SPT Luton many years ago.
His real first name is Pierre, &, remarkably, he is now 57 years old.
Back in the day - around 2000 to 2004, he was one of the best players on the circuit. As a person, I was not overly fond of him, but not because he was in any way unpleasant, he was just not my cup of tea. We were polite & respectful to each other, but otherwise never mixed much, just personal chemistry really.
There was SO much money sloshing around in poker in those days. Jac had a deal with something called World Poker Club, along with Willie Tann, Garry Bush and Carlo Citrone. In fact I bumped into Garry yesterday, he is a more of a Sports Bettor these days, & only comes to Vegas as his son lives here. He's one of the shrewdest Sports Bettors in the UK these days according to many good judges of these things.
So Jac used to poll up at every Tournament with a brown paper bag full of money, & dish it out to Gary, Willie & Carlo. Rebuys? Just a bit. In a £500 rebuy, they'd all sit with £5,000 on the table in front of them, & move all-in blind every hand. It was pretty tough to play against, & in fact it was that very thing which killed PLO MTT's on the "Live" Circuit in my opinion. Real people, with real money, just can't compete with that, & so "Live" PLO MTT's almost disappeared for a good few years.
It was crazy really, though I'm certainly not blaming those 4 lads, its just how poker was at the time, money was flowing like water & being flushed away like it was nothing. Eventually, of course, time changed & now all that nonsense is history. Everyone was sponsored then - Stars & Tilt had over 200 sponsored Pros - and of course that was ridic, & was not sustainable.
Now, in 2017, most sites have gone to the wall or no longer offer poker. FT is not a poker site any more, 'Stars has changed beyond recognition, PKR went busto, Tribeca closed, Blue Square ditto, Absolute got caught being naughty, and liquidity on Betfair & Ladbrokes, which used to be monsta, has almost completely dried up now, & the less said about I-Poker the better. Oddly, Party, once the world's biggest site, who then went into freefall, are on the way back up now. They are still smaller than Sky Poker in the UK, but globally, they are a very big site.
It's really time a history of Internet Poker was written. Some of the stuff that went off defies belief.
PS - all that waffle just because I bumped into Jac Arama yesterday. Strange how people trigger memories.

Great point. Imagine that as a poker player you were transported from 15 years ago into the modern day online pokersphere. In quite a lot of aspects it has changed beyond recognition.
With your writing ability and such topic matter you may even get me, a 'non reader', to start reading more books.
