WSOP Main Event - guess the size of the field

This worked well last year for a little fun competition
Last year the ME field was 6737. Early events this year were down on last year's totals, but as the series has gone on, numbers have recovered and recent events are up a few percent on 2016 numbers
There are 3 starting Days, logically enough 1A, 1B & 1C. It is a good old fashioned freezeout so no re-entries on the same or subsequent days are allowed.
Day 1A is this Saturday, starting at 11:00 Vegas time, 7pm our time so guesses need to be in by then. Don't fret if the 1A & 1B numbers don't look like thirds of a 6000+ runner event, the inclination is that the last Day 1 is always far and away the biggest. Maybe even more so this year as players from Day 1 will have a one-hour later start on Day 2 (12 noon instead of 11am). Poker players aren't morning people!
Having said that, I'll start the guesses of at 6801
