Get to Manchester or kill my bankroll trying

Last night I played live in an attempt to spin up the cash for Manchester on Friday. It's safe to say it didn't work out. The good old runbad/playbad cloak of mine is one that I still like to put on every now and again. I lost playing live last Friday too, but not much. I lost all weekend online, too, but not much. Last night I lost much.

Oh well. These are breaks. I was going to give up SPT dreams but then I thought, 'let's have one last hurrah.' And who doesn't like one last hurrah? No one, that's who.

So, I'm going to take this remaining £84.57 I have hanging around on Sky (I still have roughly a £500 for my harebrained b/r challenge) and dump the lot on tournament buy-ins tonight. Think I'll play the main, the mini and a few £5/£11 numbers.

After three hours' sleep, one tennis lesson, four 500 word articles written and filed, one three course lunchtaken care of and four beers I'm a little on the sluggish side but I think the excitement of updating this thread every 30 mins or so over the next few (?) hours should keep me alert.

Gl (stupid) me.

Thanks for all the posts, gents. Will get around to them in a second, but...

    THRILLING UPDATE 1
min-cashed in the freeroll for £1. Playing reasonably dreadfully in the main and spaffed off half my stack, then 3-bet then had a nervy time playing TT in the big blind versus a button raise and pretty much doubled up. So I'm hovering around starting stack. Nothing much happening in the others.

Update: owned Matt Bates (ie hit cards) in a pot in the mini as I was writing the above. More thrilling updates to follow.

Toasted sourdough w/olives, red peppers, hummus and something I've forgotten.

Locally bred, outdoory sausages with creamy mash, bacon and cabbage and madeira jus.

Summer berries with strawberry shortbread, ice cream and chantilly cream.

Haha. Did some semi-drunk yoga, drank a glass of wine and smoked a cig in the break. Floundering in everything. This thread could be the most anti-climatic thing since I last went to bed with someone.

Update: flopped a set versus Matt Bates whilst writing the above. He didn't pay me off.

Got it in on AJThcc flop w/AJ v AQcc. Turned a boat. Good old boats. Got a head. In the mini. Good old mini. Still in the main. Good old main.

    62/118 main
    91/344 mini

The only problem, as far as I can see at the moment, is deciding what to spend the extra £5K main and mini bonus on.

Busted the main I got it in on a JTXcc flop w/KQ for a QUADRUPLE up. Oh well.

Sailing along in the mini, though - 11/221 with a few heads

    Edit: bust.

I'm not smart enough to get away from KK on a TJ3 flop for 2/3rds of my stack (versus TT). AA the following hand, though, but I couldn't quite hold against 98o aipf.

Fed up with poker at the moment. I have been for a while. Feels a bit of a waste of my time and energy. I'm sure it will pass. Going to self exclude for a week or so and concentrate on my writing career for a bit, which lately has been - for want of a better word - banging. Work had really dried up but is now flooding in and I've got stuff booked in for the coming weeks and months.

Thanks for reading all and good luck in Manchester - particularly those who follow and post on my diary. You're my favourites.

Peace out, sorry this thread couldn't have been a shade more thrilling.

UL but thanks for the entertainment.

I blew a total of £5.20 on 2 allin sats to the £48 SPT semi. Nowhere near as exciting.

GL with the real job and I hope you come back here refreshed and able to enjoy the poker more when you have some properly earned cash behind you again.
