if you follow poker twitter it seems that entire bankrolls are on Mayweather.
I've joined along too, albleit for much smaller sums.
Does seem like free money. An article I read said that Mayweather should be 1/100 or something ridic but all the Irish money on is causing a pretty insane market.
Just heard an interesting one if magregor flips and gets disqualified for using mma moves he loses a huge chunk of his money I think this could be worth a small bet
I have 500 on mayweather by ko some with the bookies at 10/11 some with friends at evens.... I think 8/11 is the best you can get now. I had to get past the "how much a rematch is worth" In my heads.
Flows has come in way under the limit so has clearly been working hard in camp
To be honest it's the bet of a lifetime you will never get a better bet than this in my opinion. The greatest of a generation against a guy who is not even the greatest in his own sport crossing over.
If mcgregor lands a meaningful punch I will be suprised.
Problem I have with betting on this - couldn't this all be somewhat staged, rigged etc? Posted by swanstu
Thats my concern too, is Mayweather willing to lose this for another huge pay day rematch. Or perhaps he will let it go the distance and a split decision win for Mayweather so they can have a rematch.
The fact this fight has gone ahead confirms to me that results are fixed and money talks.
I suppose if it is somewhat staged, theres a good chance they have a few rounds of 'exhibition' before the real fight is allowed to take off, at which point Mayweather may be almost a 1/100 shot to stop McGregor.

If there is any hint of this being rigged the wbc will impose fines the size we have never seen before making it unlikely

Just out of interest, how do you know that? And how would they prove rigged?

Ok I will explain (sigh). What sort of organisation will allow someone who isnt a professional boxer to jump straight in to a world title fight?
To me its an organisation that dont have proper rules and allow money talk. I therefore would have little confidence in the rules of the outcome of this fight.

It isn't a world title fight per se, the only belt on the line is 'The Money Belt'
There are the 'Queensbury Rules' in boxing as far as I am aware.
The worldwide interest has made this fight possible.
It seems alot of people here have lumped mayweather. Apparently the first 144 bets placed in vegas on the fight saw mcgregor with a 140 of them. I know someone has a £100k on mayweather

Queensbury rules probably won't help Mc Gregor-gloves and the lack of rest "coming up to the mark" gave. add in the total lack of preparation (why no warm up fight?) and the high pain threshold MMA fighters have, potential for disaster-I am amazed this fight was sanctioned.
PS-shameless brag, and odd claim to fame, my great-great-uncle is usually regarded as the last bare knuckle world champion (John L Sullivan). Now there is a man who lived a fascinating life...
This is an MMA fighter versus possibly the greatest boxer of all time, in a boxing match. A boxer who will want to stay undefeated. The odds you can get on Floyd right now are huge all things considered.
