You don't need a poll for me to tell you this isn't coming back. It was cancelled for a reason!

If i remember correctly James, this was actually a popular tournament on Sundays.

Cheers for your blunt response though.

Looking at the figures it was popular at one point many years ao but back in 2014 it was missing guarantee regularly. It would do even worse nowadays with the big shift in popularity towards bounty hunters.

There are threads like this all the time and lots of the players that say they want a freezeout/deepstack dont even end up playing. The only expection has been the megastack.

Out of curiosity, why do all MTT's need to have a guarantee?

Back when I last paid much attention to online MTT's (around 2004, I kid you not), a tournament with a guarantee was very much the exception rather than the norm. Obviously I can see how they're of help in getting bums on seats and making sexy promotional statements, but it seems strange to me how a guarantee seems to have become a requirement these days. Would Sky have anything to lose by offering a revived Primo (or a generally more diverse range of MTT's) without a guarantee to at least give players the option?

Lets say I removed every guarantee tomorrow whilst keeping the same schedule. Would long term profits go up or down? Now it's the norm we would look rather amateurish to not have guarantees. Some players would be turned off immediately which is not good for long term traffic.

    Fair enough James.

I am admittedly a bit of a dinosaur. I also don't understand why nobody makes good music anymore and movies haven't been the same since they introduced these new-fangled "talkies".

Can't argue with any of that.

The Primo was missing the GTD when we had the live TV show.

With the Roller, it's a big enough comp to attract a fair few grinders from other sites over to help with the GTD.  Don't think they would make the effort for a £55.

    Going a bit OT but...

I've been playing on a few random networks lately and we actually have it pretty good on Sky.  Theres has been a big decrease in their liquidity over the last year on these sites/networks wheras Sky is holding firm and getting some good fields in MTTs.  I think one of the reasons for this is the BHs, in additiion to no tracking software/big brand name/playing in £££/ etc.

I reckon there are some tweaks to be had, some slots need looking at and I'd like to see a couple of bigger GTDs on a Sunday, but overall I think as players we have to give respect to the team for their hard work.  They are doing a great job in the current poker climate.

And unlike a year or so ago when the TV channel was still around, I have no vested interest in saying that!
