Mind set is everything

I recently returned to Sky after a 6 month self exclusion during which i absolutely crammed as much poker strategy as I could. I only ever play small stakes MTT and SNG with probably the 7 at 7 being the biggest and deep stacks my favourite.

In the last week I have played a few deep stacks and have enjoyed a 3rd a 1st a 3rd and a 10th for a weekly profit of £69 plus change. This would have been more but for a brief flirtation with DYM and a cash session.

Whats amazing is ive realised that its the same site, players, and conditions etc yet this was the same site id thought i could never win anything. The omly difference now is ME. I play with a different outlook and mind set. I continue to hoover up the free training vids from Doug Polk, James Sweeny, Nick Weathrall etc and think I now have the tools to cope when the 1 outer kills me on the river etc. 

I know that for many of you a £69 profit is an hour or twos work but for those of you with a Sky Poker is fixed I cant win mentality step back strip your mental game down, accept that there are probably many areas of your game that suck and learn to play all over again.

I dont know really where I think my best game will be probably deep stacks  freezeouts and bounty hunters but Im going to try for £500 by Christmas.

    Well done Mark. I reckon you will beat that £500 target. Don't forget though, stick to what you do best, & if Cash Games & SNG's are not your game, don't play them.

    The way I see the game...

    Poker = Various formats and game types of cards where the outcome is determined by the interaction of psychology, skill and variance (me, just now).

    Never mind all that sky bet have stoke down at 16/1 stick a fiver on it buddy you know it makes sense

    Thanks for the kind words guys. Made a min cash in the £200 freezeout last night / this morning, shudda been more but i took a flip with nut flush and open ended draw on the river for 60 % of my stack on the bubble (playing for the win).

    Will keep grinding for that £500 by Chrimbo
