Refund for cancelled UKOPS semi?

Firstly, apologies if this issue has already been covered on the forum.

I won a satellite earlier this evening, the prize being a £48 seat into the UKOPS 23 High Roller semi at 21.45pm. The semi was then cancelled due to insufficient entries.  The cash equivalent has not been credited to my account and following a 'live chat' with Customer services I'm told this won't be happening and that instead they will give me a tournament entry of my choice to the same value.

Don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill here, but as a matter of principal, I would have thought that if the tournament is cancelled for such a reason, then a satellite qualifier would be treated the same as a direct buy in, and receive the buy in amount back to their account.

First time I've experienced this situation and whilst I'm sure I wont be financially disadvantaged in the long run, I just wondered whether this is the normal approach of dealing with it?

I understand your frustration. Could you not be just put into another semi when it suits you best? I'm pretty sure sky James or someone from sky will credit your account back.

Pretty sure you will be refunded in £ given the event was cancelled.

Seen a few of these on the forum over time. Standard is that BI is manually refunded as cash to accounts sometime the day after.

Fairly sure Pingu is correct, it is only this case when you sat in and it gets cancelled. It is something James/Sam do rather than customer care so it is just a case of waiting till the next day but always best to check your account that it has gone in.

    Hi Saw,

No need to fret in this case, as others have indicated, you will receive your refund today.

    Thanks Tikay and others.

Must admit, I wasn't 'coping' with the initial response on live chat, which did 'hack' me off and resulted in a 'circular' walk round the dining room 'table'.
However, I'm now off to do a 'jig' to my favourite 'band'.

....pretty sure you're referring to the wider IT/technical aspect of refunds being applied automatically but just to avoid any confusion I just want to confirm that MY situation was resolved satisfactorily by the good people at Sky.

Im referring to tech issue. This one should have been sorted some time ago. The minimum requirement should have been you get informed at point of cancellation. Support should have known and no reason wh they cant refund you there and then. Relying on manual resolution followind day is subject to human error along with designated person being unavailable, ie sick. Regardless of this its unprofessional. Trying entering a tourny on the basis of ill pay entry tomorrow.

i had a bit of an issue with this over the lst few days but i have got it resolved now and all is good but the issues i had which i found annoying were:

if i hadnt have being monitoring my account balance it would have went unnoticed and i would never have been any the wiser

it took two 45 minute discussions on live chat to get it resolved, firstly i was refunded just the rake fee and not the rake fee plus buyin and on the second discussion i was told i was wrong four times before they realised they were refunding me the rake instead of my full buyin amount

as i said, all is good now but its hard to understand why i had to go look for the amount back rather than it being put directly back into my account
