UKOPS countdown

Quick reminder - UKOPS XX starts in 5 days time, on Friday.

    Looking forward to this.

    Can I request one thing?  Perhaps a little late, but worth a shot.

    The £55 Rebuy on the 1st November is 3000 starting chips.  Would it be possible to increase this to 5000?  As its a bigger tournament people will be inclined to re-enter if it goes squonk, however this starting stack will put those off after a couple of levels as you end up being very shallow very quick.

    The vast majority of other starting stacks for main event is 10000 so a double stack to begin with would effectively be the same.

    Chances of this happening?

    With 60 mins of late reg, this means anyone late to the party, 
    will have to start with 10 bigs (not ideal)

    If the structure is set in stone, no probs.
    if memory serves I'm sure previous ukops plo8 tourney's
    had a 5K starting stack.

    On the subject of PLO8, players of this format don't get much in the realm of bigger tournaments and prizes, so would urge anyone who is around on the night of this event (Thursday 2nd Nov) to jump in and play and try and explode the prizepool as much as possible! Firstly it would give the guys who are PLO8 players (believe there are a fair few...) something special to look forward to and enjoy. Also, if it does well, PLO8 may get a bigger better offering in a future series.

    I don't even play PLO8 - don't even know the rules of this game but I'll definitely be in there mashing some buttons!! Any Holdem players playing that night may as well do the same for a shot at a UKOPS title.

    If you are a PLO8 player but your average buy in is much lower than this £22 game and that's a deterrent, there are what, 3 of these tournaments a year? How damaging is it going to be to have a bash at a big prize? For the game to grow it needs people in there playing.

    No idea why I'm posting this as like I say, I don't even play the game! But I'll be in there for this event, and there always seem to be plenty of people talking about PLO8 on the forum so would be good for these guys if everyone supported this kind of event.

    I see in the lobby that the starting stack is still 3K.
    no rush, ukops hasn't started yet ;)

    I've met you in the middle and upped to 4k chips. Players can buy in for 20bb just before late reg closes.

    Nice one champ. Never played in one of these always seem to miss it or forget about it. I will make sure i attend this time, thanks for the reminder and getting the chips up to 4k.

    Thanks saf lad. Not sure what the prize is for second place, but good luck to you if you are going for it :)

    couldn't rely on the old bloke to sort it (not at his age anyway)

    UKOPS XX starts in just under an hour.

    If you plan to play just 1 event, or the whole chabang, good luck, don't play more than you can afford, enjoy it, & don't forget, dream the impossible, as it might just happen. Be careful not to over-reach, though.......

    Sadly the Bromleys will be missing this UKOPS as we will be out of the country (thin, I know).

    I HATE missing these festivals as I completely love them.

    So run golden everyone and enjoy every bit of it.
