Super 50 Dusk Till Dawn Event Yesterday...

Hey guys,

I went up to DTD for the first time yesterday, great venue there....extremely well run and was a great bunch of people up there. I played in the Super 50 £50+£6 Freezeout....288 runners, so for me this was the biggest tournament I had entered.

I felt I played extremely strong and had great reads on certain players throughout the day, I actually looked down at AhQh in my Big Bling first hand and launched a bluff after missing on the river so felt confident getting that through..

Had some good banter on the table with some guys there and it was a really good tournament.

It paid out at 27th and unfortunately I busted on in 38th...

There are 3 hands that really stick out for me....my pocket 88s running into 10s but I spiked an 8 on the river to double up.

I was running dead for a while so looked down at A7 off suit mid position, blinds are 1k/2k...I raise up to 5k leaving me 28k behind. Big Blind calls me...Flop comes Kc 9c 3c. I have no clubs at all...I fire out a 6k bet. He flat calls (Gets me suspicious a little..) Turn comes 2hearts. I check.....he checks....(Got me thinking that he isn't strong so missed his flush...) River comes down Kd. Now I think he has missed his flush and hope my A high could generally be good here..I check and he bets out 5k (He's left himself 19k behind...) I look at my stack put 5k to the side and go over the top of him for 22k in total. He thinks about it for AGES and shows AJ...he had missed his flush. I turned my A7 off to show...(I had been sitting there for over an hour so tight and built that image up, I wanted to show people to make them think i am a little loose so when it comes down to me having to push I'm able to get it in strong, hoping they think Im making a move.

Now the big turning point of my tournament was that the Average stack was 65k, Im sitting with 24k. I look in my big blind and have KQ off suit. Folds round to the massive stack who raises to 10k on the button. The small blind pushes for 11.5k (Extremely tight player)...Now looking back, I should of pushed here...I don't know what I was waiting for it was a great time to get my chips in and I just didn't have the balls to do it...if the small blind hadnt pushed I would of...I just regret that so much because both players turned K9 and 10 8...K high won so my Queen would of played and I'd tripled up to over Average stack!! So gutted.....

I then made an exit quickly after that..

All in all, a great experience and some great players at Dusk Till Dawn...Im looking to head up there once a month so hopefully can push on further!

Sorry for the long post but just wanted to get that KQ out of my head because I've never regretted a hand so much...

Thanks guys!

A really good write up about your visit to the DTD. Shame you didn't cash but I bet it was good just for the experience. Although I live just outside Nottingham [Calverton] I've not yet got round to visiting there yet, just in the casino's in Nottingham city centre. [ Sadly, one of them no longer run pokernights].

I will get round to it one day!

Definately recommend going to DTD as soon as you can man. Perhaps let me know when you go up and I may be up there too!

    Nice Story ADs2 ..
It's funny that you've reminded me, when in my early days of live tournaments at Luton, I had it happen to me  where I come away  regretting the hand I didn't play, and thinking "If Only" !!

BUT you soon put it out of your mind, it's all apart of the game ..but in poker as in life ... 'Never look back with regrets !'
The main thing is you've enjoyed the day , just keep doing that  and the results will come !!

    glk
