Also im sure grog will say the same we haven't played are best. in terms of the side bet im 10 points ahead so game on. https://www.asda.jobs/ my mate sent me this as inspiration for today lol. time to pull finger out.

All part of the long game. Bricked 3 days of MTT's to lull you into a false sense of security. Gonna pounce tonight

Managed my first cash of the series yesterday! Hopefully more to come. Still running pretty gruesome in tournaments. In last nights main I got it in Kings vs Tens preflop twice for 20k pots and managed to lose both, which I guess kinda sums up my UKOPS so far.

Tbh thread still delivers even if you brick everything - kind of reassuring to see even crushers have to deal with variance!

Re the bet, think Grog plays cash and Dog plays spins? So I'll sit on the fence and say Grog in reg speeds, Dog in turbos :)

grog plays spins to. He plays them to fund his MTT entries :D

Another bad day. Becoming the expectation now. Still in the £55 and £11 but gonna have to have a very deep run to breakeven as was 3 bullets deep in the £220. Bust my third bullet in the £220 running QQ into AK and failing to win the 40k flip. I have lost all those spots all UKOPS, there's really nothing you can do when that happens. Just have to keep chucking money at it and trying to play well. Have played much better these past two days than earlier in the series, but just haven't ran well at all throughout it. Who knows maybe my luck will change tomorrow! Running bad in the higher buy in events is particularly frustrating but that's just how poker goes. It would be nice if you could pick where you wanted to spend your run good! :)

Luckily it isn't all bad as I have been doing reasonably well at the spin ups during the UKOPS period, and aside from the above hand have ran fairly well there.

The good news is there is still 5 days left of ukops to try and get some runs. The bad news is tomorrow is rebuy day, and Chris has a tendency to do rather well in them.

i have just run the figures and dogbloke is 6th with 100 points whilst groggs is 92nd= (alphabetically 101st on my list) with 25 points.

good luck both, still can't choose a favourite nor who will win.

Another disappointing day. Just can't run well enough to make a deep run. Lost flip for chip lead of main with 13 left, then lost JJ V 88 for another big pot to bust. In other stuff similar stories where I lose standard spots. If it wasn't for the prop bet with Chris not sure If I would find the motivation to keep grinding tournaments, like banging my head against a wall at the moment.

In before you bink main event on Sunday

Are either of you taking any days off this week?
  • FeelGroggyFeelGroggy Member Posts: 843
No chance, neither of us want to lose :) Because we've both has a very poor UKOPS, it is very close and could go down to the wire. I plan to win the hi-lo tournament tonight

Man it's grim when MTTs go that way for you, especially when it just happens to come along during a big series with bigger BIs. Hope you both manage to come out of UKOPS in the black.

2 days left to catch Chris, gonna need a big score in that time. Just can't get deep. Don't want to bore people with hands but pretty much all standard spots how I'm busting, or is unlucky
  • FeelGroggyFeelGroggy Member Posts: 843
Already bust most the events of tonight, left in one with the 10pm starting soon. Unless I can get a decent run in one of them then it leaves me trailing a lot of points going into the last day, so unless I can make something happen then its GG and Chris wins.
Another fun way to bust in the main. I cold 4bet AK and lose to a flopped flush from the mighty 85dd :-) Poker isn't the funnest of games when it's all going against you, but gotta have those periods or wouldn't have it where it all goes your way I guess

We fail to win a flip deep in the main, so Chris wins the prop bet. I'd say congratulations but with -1.5k he basically triumphed by virtue of me being even worse than him. Sure he'll happily accept the money though :) Even though its over, UKOPS still costing me money

Unlucky Griggs, I wonder how much he made? There's always mini UKOPS? :)
