Hi all.

Following on from Micky's comments, I have made today's removers slightly more difficult.

As there is no rollover, we don't have room to put horses 20/1+ in our perms so they are "mostly" not in LIGHT BLUE.

If however something is significantly backed that isn't in the shortlist feel free to bring it to my attention:

As per other thread, please post twenty removal selections by 11.10am, but you may make up to three modifications prior to the off of the first race at 12.40pm.

Please note when making amendments after 11.10am, it is likely that I will be updating the sheet at the same time, so the appearance may look difference as I reveal and hide columns/rows etc.

So take care with your updates.

FYI, I have made some extensive changes to the removals template (some visible, some behind the scenes)

New features include:

1) Auto generated selections count (so you can see as you go along how many more you need to do, and it also feeds in directly to the scoring system.) Also tells you how many selections you have remaining

The cell under your USERID in row 6 will be red, but goes yellow when less than 4 left and green when you have done all removals required. It will go red again if you remove too many. If a selection is deleted because it is a Non Runner, it will go yellow to highlight this.

2) Automatic "number of lines" counter and perm cost generation

3) LAT price permanently populated and will change as prices change, but LAT prices of all legs will be fixed after first race starts.

4) Price changes more easily visible for me when creating the perms along with conveniently positioned duplicate merged list totals.

5) Removals Merged list totals automatically created.

6) Automatic Removals Leader Board creation.

I hope you will embrace the changes, I know it's all fluid, but want to get things as slick as possible in preparation for 2018.

FYI. Roger, I have made most of these changes on the base template too (ROGERS_GOOGLE_REMOVERS_TEMPLATE) now, so as discussed before, please always use this as your baseline.

Also if there are over twelve runners in any one leg. Please can you insert a row ABOVE line 12 and then copy line 12 into the new row etc. This way formulas will be maintained. Any questions, let me know.

I know it has been a learning curve for all, but I do hope that the new system brings more ease and enjoyment into the process.

It is certainly easier to maintain up-to-date REMOVER's and NAP's leader boards which I know was something that a lot of people wanted.

Hi Micky, thanks for this. I know you were wanting to be helpful, but for now please only update the selections under your column, as I deal with late NR's slightly differently and there are also hidden columns etc with formulas in.

A lot of stuff underneath it all that you can't see.

So the system only works if people stick to their own column, unless they have an official administrative role.

Also with Non Runners I like to see the betting pattern before they became a NR, which you inadvertently removed.

I know your intentions were good, so no problem.

As a general rule, unless admin, the only cells you should ever update are green, yellow or white.

So please do post NR's here and/or on NAPS thread, but leave me or an admin guy to update sheet.

If you want to learn more about it to do admin roles at a later date, let me know, I will be happy to go through stuff, but we can get in serious "trouble with formulas" if people update cells they are not supposed to.

Like I said, I know your intentions were good and I appreciate that.

P.S. On this note. Roger, I would prefer if we always have the name of the horse in, even if it's a NR. I know that seems strange, but there are reasons and also for consistency. I have amended the sheet accordingly.

Done Snuffer, you may want to check.

Going forward, I'll see if I can put some conditional formatting in the cells, that should enable you to copy/paste just the text from your tablet and it "should" convert it to right colour/wrapping etc.

Hi Stewart, think I have sorted it (just temp atm, not on main template), do you want to give it a go? Try adding one and then delete it.

Tried on practice sheet but I can’t even get the paste option up now. In a couple of weeks I will have access to a desktop so it will not be a problem going forward. Thanks.

OK, it looks like all the regulars have done their REMOVALS, so I will start working on the perm structure now.

You can make a few modifications (Max 3) between now and the off of the first if you wish.

Just be aware that I will be working on the sheet at the same time.

FYI, the new auto scoring system, provides false averages in running as it assumes all 20 selections have already run, but "should" touch wood all be right once all results are entered.

OK, scores should be calculated automatically, please check your score and sign if agreed. Please note for the formulas all to work people that had the Non Runner "Red Flute" have had that selection deleted.
