Pretty tricky spot here imo. USually would fold here in any higher buy ins but because it was a £2.20 I thought there could be AJ AT, small/medium pairs, etc. that play this way.

Curious to see what you guys think, any merit to flatting pre?

Think I'm just calling pre after the big isolation of limpers. Also think its a little more of a myth than people believe about micros, especially on sky about ranges that early in a tourney. Id be almost more willing to call off with AQ there in a 5.50 than a 2.20

I agree with Allan, It's a meaty raise so I'm only 3betting if I know I'm happy to get the lot in pre.

Wrote out a much more detail reply but timed out.
    Cliffs.
Why the raise ? Never getting a fold unless you have specific notes on button squeezing so at stack sizes we are raising to gii (if not way too big).
So raising to gii against small/medium pairs which we are behind to makes no sense.
Flatting I think is worse you are opp in level 1/2 no need to take such risks early on.
Usually remove villain names from hh.
I am sure you will crush your targets as you have have a very solid game but as has been drilled into me don't make plays at low stacks that you cant stand over if it was the next buy in up. Big winners make the correct play by using there edge later so taking flips early is -ev if you can outplay them later.

Best of Luck in the future

The player has made is 6x pre, sitting in the SB with AQos. If we 3 bet and he 4 bet JAMS, we will generally not be in the best of shape.

If he calls the 3 bet then we are going to miss the flop a decent % of the time and we only really have a pot sized bet behind.

It's really good you were thinking about taking the initiative from the SB, instead of calling. This is not the best place to be doing it though, just because of this massive 6 x raise pre.

Just fold this hand preflop, whilst it is a very strong hand, given positions (we will be playing post flop out of position), and the fact the MTT is very early, we don't really need to be getting involved here against a 6 x raise.
