V, we differ on Wynne's total profit by £1. I have left MICKY where he is for now, save messing about with tables.
Cheers,
G
YOU ARE RIGHT g i GOT IT WRONG AMENDED
hOWEVER YOU HAVE DONE YOURSELF OUT OF A WINNER 32 + 1 TODAY =33 ALSO SNUFFER SHOULD BE 22 + 1 TODAY = 23
Cheers V, yeh I knew about the winner for me and Snuffer, I thought I had corrected it, but I only corrected it on the RESET SHEET and not on the results sheet, should be OK now. TY
iF YOU ADD THOSE TO YOUR GOOGLE SHEET TOTALS ON THE GOOGLE SHEET PAGE AFTER 7/12/17 ATTEMPT I THINK YOU WILL FIND YOU COME TO MY CHECKING TABLE TOTALS ABOVE FOR MONTHAND NOT YOUR TOTALS ON THE GOOGLE SHEET AFTER 15TH.
YOUR GOOGLE SHEET FOR MONTHLY IS CORRECT FOR WYNNE1938 AND HANSON BUT WRONG FOR REST FINANCIALLY.
IN ADDITION YOUR SELECTIONS/WINNERS IS WRONG FOR YOURSELF AND RABDENIRO, BY MY CALCULATIONS YOU HAVE 20 SEL 5 WINNERS, RABDENIRO HAS 17/2
ADDING THE WEEKLY TOTALS ABOVE EXTRACTED FROM THE GOOGLE SHEETS AND ADDING THEM TO THE GOOGLE SHEET FOR AFTER 7/12/17 ATTEMPT PRODUCES FIGURES IN TOTAL AGREEMENT WITH MY CHECKING TABLE ABOVE.
GOOGLE SHEET FOR 15TH IS RIGHT FOR WYNNE1938, HANSON AND RABDENIRO BUT WRONG FINANCIALLY FOR ALL THE REST WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN LAST WEEK. ADDITIONALLY YOU HAVE 274 SELECTIONS 72 WINNERS NOT 273/72 AS PER GOOGLE SHEET AND SNUFFER HAS 246/57 NOT 246/56 AS PER GOOGLE SHEET.
dONT KNOW WHAT HAS GONE WRONG WITH GOOGLE SHEET LAST WEEK BUT AFTER DOUBLE CHECK IT APPEARS ALL MY CHECKING TABLES TO 15/12/17 CORRECT,
I agree I will wait for google sheet to go up here first before doing checking table and that was my intention. Unfortunately when doing live table update i hit post instead of draft. after doing that I thought people would think i was crowing by only posting that so that is why I did other two . I will try not to make the same mistake again although it shouldnt matter.
As you know the reason I do my checking tables is I dont trust technology but I do trust people and it looks like perhaps i am right in my view.
Obviously, without doing a lot of re-checking, I can't see where things went wrong, so I will leave previous tables, and just update todays result and the reset sheet.
As I mentioned previously, I have always been a bit concerned regarding compounding errors if results aren't checked daily.
I think, going forward we should have a schedule for daily checking. Obviously it is too much for you to do on a daily basis, but if me, you, and one other share the load we can check it each day. We just need to put a rota together.
One more volunteer to join a daily NAP's checking rota would be handy.
Cheers,
G
P.S. V, are you happy to check tomorrow's, as it will be building on your totals from today?
P.P.S. I will try and trawl through results from 7/12/17 onwards and see what happened and if I can get to your total, depending on how tired I get.

I really cant check daily Graham but if you want to get somebody else to do that I wont be offended. I will still check weekly and unless I become totally brain dead my checking tables should always agree.
What I do in effect is take down the details on the daily google sheet each day and build up a weekly sheet. I then add up the weekly sheet selections/ winners/profit and loss and add them to our last agreement point as I have done above. As I say unless I have a brain misfunction with the adding up (as with wynnes) I will be right and if I am not, with posting after you post the relevant google sheet I will check again and again to make sure i am right before posting the disagreement with google sheets.
Hi V, I have checked through everything and it all started to go wrong when I offered to finish off the Chelmsford Scores for MAX on 14th Dec. It looks like I copy/paste values from column J over column J itself, instead of/as well as I.
I thought something was a bit funny today when I noticed formulas in col J were overwritten with hard values, but instead of checking it, I just put the formulas back.
Unlike you, I trust the computers automation, more than I do the human bits, especially if the human is ME :=)
There are several human errors that can occur that can cause the automation to go wrong, (as we know about the trailing space on removal scores for example, or a missed score) Or as I did, copy/paste incorrectly, but if the formulas are right and the data is right, and the process is done right, then automation will be right. That's three big IF's though, which is why we do need your manual checking.
It's all been a steep learning curve for us all and I am really happy to have you for the manual checks and all the effort you put in.
If I had time, I could probably find a way to "prevent" formulas getting overwritten and make trailing spaces not an issue etc, but I only have so much time.
So anyway, thanks to my sloppiness, the carry over figures were all messed up, there was also an isolated incident where I was not deducted a £1 for a selection I made on 9th July.
Anyhow, the figures now agree with the exception of Wynne. Where we have a £1 mis-match in the MONTHLY and YEARLY (Non GO-LIVE)
The £1 looks the other way this time, so was thinking, maybe you adjusted the combined ones when they were OK?
Anyway if you say your total for Wynne is right then I will adjust it, but could you just double check it.
Thanks for all the hard work checking.
Regarding Daily checking, it's not that I think your figures won't be right, as mostly they are, but it means that a SHEET error may get compounded upon potentially for 7 days, so want to put something in place to prevent that.
Cheers,
G
P.S. BTW. Very well done extending your lead in the live with a 7/1 winner!

no probs I will check all wynnes again when I get a mo today and post my working out on here if we still disagree. Thanks re the winner compliments.
YEARLY 275 SELECTIONS 82 WINNERS, 193 LOSERS £(32.19) - £1.75 UP = £(30.44) MONTHLY 20 SELECTIONS 8 WINNERS £7.12 UP + £1.75 = £8.87 UP
bOTH THESE AGREE WITH MY CHECKING TABLES.
Overview We have agreed Go live Google sheet and my checking table for 15/12 agree. I await Monthly and combined Google sheet for 15/12/17 to be posted so I can agree them against my tables.
agree all googlesheets up to and including 15/12/17 correct. Due to the problems I will try and do checking tables up to and including 16/12/17 so we have a clean starting point again.
Comments
I have tried tracing mine back.
Can you check when you get a chance.
I have lots still to do for tomorrow, so short on time.
Probably best to post yours after the formal ones are done, as I don't know if I am trawling back through results unnecessarily.
I will post what I have here.
