Hi guys many thanks for your continued support this year of the TLB2017 charity initiative.
So far we have
£2,940 in pledges and I am hopeful we will pass the £3K mark by the end of the year. Not quite as much as previous years, but still a very good total.
I have started this new thread to count us down as the new year approaches. (So I can update the OP as we go)
Jordz at the moment is running away with both competitions (VWP Sir!) although the battle for minor placings (and some well earned cash for their chosen charities) is hotting up nicely.

I have been thinking about next year. For various reasons it has proved more difficult to keep on top of things this year and I was considering not doing it next year.
I started this on Jan 1st 2014 in memory of my late brother who died in Sept 2013, so if possible I would like to keep it going in some form.
So this is what I propose to do for 2018, it would be great if you could support it.
1) Have the two competitions (TLB and Tournament Wins Comps) as before as well as the Heads Up Cup. I will still provide trophies for all three comps.
2) Rather than have a "prize pool", all monies raised by competitors will go to their own charity. They will be responsible for making their own donation direct to their chosen charity at the end of the year.
3) Sponsors can make a donation to a charity of their choice and/or a charity of one of the competitors, or winners charity etc. They will make the donation themselves directly to the charity concerned.
4) The above means that I don't need to be middle man for the funds as I do with the current system, it also makes "gift aid" more straight forward. It also means that I don't need to chase people for payments as it will just be up to them to honour their pledge with the charity concerned.
I hope that people will still continue in 2018 and beyond under the new system. Many thanks to all, sponsors and competitors alike, who have supported this for the last few years.
Please post here if you are happy to continue as a competitor, or indeed, new blood is always welcome.
Regarding this year, the charity payment allocation will be as set out in January 2017, I will provide details of how to make payments in early January.
Thanks again for your support of this.
I do hope that between us, we can keep this going.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and all the best on and off the tables for 2018 and beyond!
Graham
The battle for the minor places in both comps is still a very tight affair, with StayOrGo, FeelGroggy, Limp2Lose and Devil_Tear all fighting for 2nd place in the TLB comp. Who will get that last late push and fill, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places?
The same four guys are also fighting out minor honours in the Tournament Wins comp (also dominated by Jordz, with an amazing 5 main event wins)
Also add to the above, EssexPhil (3 main event wins) and SoLack who is not out of it yet, so it will be interesting to see who fills 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots.
Devil_Tear is looking good in 2nd in the Tournament Wins comp, and it's not impossible for him to catch Jordz, but he would need some very good results in the last 3 weeks.
Many thanks to all who have supported, and best of luck to all our competitors and sponsors for the remainder of the year and beyond.
The OP is now up-to-date as of 11/12/17.
Cheers,
G
Many thanks to Waller who has increased his pledge from £20 to £30.
Cheers,

So sorry to hear about your site not running for 2018.
I was wondering if you could offer me some help as to how I find out previous results, as I don't know how to find out past results other than via your site.
I am not sure yet if the charity thread will run in 2018, but if it does, I need a way to record tournament wins points.
Thanks again for all the help with the charity league tables over the last few years, your site was/is a big help and it will be missed.
All the best for Christmas and 2018!
Cheers,
G
