Lifes not all about poker, or is it ?

We had our Christmas works party last night at the same pub we always have.

Beautiful pub, with low beams that hurt the skulls of tall people discriminately.

Yew Tree Inn

The Granary, Chalvington Rd, Chalvington, Hailsham BN27 3TB

This year, along with the Irish folk band , we hired in a roulette and blackjack table , giving us pretend currency to buy chips.

The chaps at work know I'm a poker knob and I was expected to scoop top prize.

I did too.

Blackjack, what a wonderful game, shove / fold strategy works.

Because I had so much beer and Jaeger last night, I needed a few beers today.

I walked to the bus stop to get myself in town, as I approached, there stood an elderly lady, she took a glove off and was writing something on the frosted council bin ...

I half smiled enquiringly , she said.....

They spelt merry wrong.....

It made my day...

    Thank you Mumsie,
Our Family Christmas night out at local pub is next week and it's my turn to be secret Santa, so it's Walker Crisps all round.
The rail is my escape to be silly, 5 min break, vent, have fun. I'm not everyone's cuppa, as you know, do have my hater's, but, as my old Mum would say " try's hard, mean's well occasionally needs a slap.

Your thread title could be challenged by certain someone who's name starts with a T ?

The lady deserves a hug, nothing worse than mis-spelt words in this day and age 😉

When i say elderly, I mean someone my age.

She was my age, but the anecdote works better if shes older .
